At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

you were so, innocent but you were stealing my heart

I can feel something stirring within the depths of darkness. It draws nearer and nearer to the sleeping doe that lay helpless under the night sky. She is shrouded in moonlight, that red haired vera. An Ethiopian princess of old that is oblivious to the danger. Exhaustion has taken over her slender body, causing her to fall into the deepest of rems in a long while. She dreams of a pale demon, dreams of a white monster that has been imprinted upon her mind and perhaps something else entirely. There is no peace for her within her sleep world just as there is no peace out of it. She can remember the blood that stained his beautiful pelt, remember the horrifying aroma of metallic death. His muscles, they had flowed under his coat of tainted innocence and they had frightened her, so very much. Then again, it had excited her, so very much. The flower is in turmoil within herself, her dreams mixing with nightmares and her heart never seems to stop racing. Never is she safe, not even in her own conciousness. Then again, is she in any danger at all from that disturbing creature? That is the confusing question that poses within her mind for it was he who had run from her. Or maybe, he had not run but merely had hidden in the darkness, waiting to kill her when she felt most safe. If that was the case, he would be forced to wait for an eternity for the darling flower was never truly safe. Her innocence was like a spotlight that drew the devils nears. They came in groups or they came alone, creatures of every sort of types. They always came for her no matter where she would run and hide.

A twig snaps and it is enough to pull her from her state of simple rest. It is dark, so very dark and she cannot see just quite yet. Delicate hazels peer into the abysmal black, searching for the sound of that noise. Shadows leap at her from everywhere, forms of demons tearing forward to grab at her. That delicate heart beats faster, possibly by the end of this adventure the girl would have a heart attack. She squeaks, a slight appeal to them all in hopes to be free. They close in though and it isn't until light seeps into her retinas and her pupils adjust that she can make out the shapes as nothing more than mere trees and bushes. The girl breathes, attempting to calm herself. She is rattled, so very rattled. Is it possible for one to be this scared? In lihli's case, it seemed it was. There was no time for the dame to even think of calming completely, no time for her to even think about relaxing. There was perhaps a time in the young girl's life when she was able to truly relax and enjoy her own. That time was when she was merely a pup, rumbling around with her siblings. That time was short and taken away very soon. Luckily, her innocence remained, she was the few that kept her innocence for the shadows would tear in and rip it away with one mere swipe of black. Something stirs before her, slithering along the earth like a snake. Her hazels lock onto the shadow, praying that it isn't real. They had found her, they were coming. These were some of the many thoughts coursing through her gentle mind. She presses back against the tree, wondering if perhaps this may be the white soldier returning to finally kill her. As she stares in horror at the demon, she realizes it is not. It's eyes were locked on to her, a desire for blood seething within them.

She blinks

It is then that as she opens her eyes she jumps with shock. The pale demon stands before her, blocking her from its other half. It takes her a moment to register what has happened. The other male begins to get up and she realizes that the danger from Staircase Falls had just attacked her attacker. Perhaps he simply wanted her for himself as the sickening realization that he had followed her here came to the surface. All lihli can do is press herself against the tree, praying for all of this to be over soon. The fallen angel lunges forward, attacking the black before he has a chance to strike. Lihli cannot watch, fighting was not for her, blood and glory, she despised it all. Her eyes shut as she clings to the tree. She trembles, refusing to open them even as the world grows quiet. She would not watch to see who the victor was, she would not watch to see who would get the chance to eat her, kill her, impregnate her. The winner would not be merciful, or so she believed. "Are you alright?" Eyes flash open at the surprisingly gentle baritones that spill from freshly bloodied kissers. She cannot breathe, he is too close. She can smell the blood again. She gets nauseauss, her stomach turns, head spins as she tries to make out just exactly what he is asking. Physically? Emotionally? Mentally? All of the above? The fact of the matter was that no, lihli was no okay. The delicate flower had been tainted. It seemed there was a lot of tainting going on around here. She says nothing for what seems like forever, she cannot answer nor begin to speak to him. She is so dizzy, so lightheaded that she is scared to give an effort todo anything for fear of fainting. Finally, she breathes, inhaling that sickening aroma and then exhaling. "Get away from me."

If he were to obey her, then she would know that he truly means no harm. She wants him away, wants to be able to feel safe and breathe fresh air. Then again, the thought of having her savior parted from her in the darkness frightened her. It was a mixture of ideas for her and I watch s turmoil and confusion streak across her face. She is scared but in this moment she knows he has just saved her life. "I...I just... can't stand the smell of bloos on you..." I guess that was better. At least she gave him an explanation for having him away. She just needed space, time and space and to see him clean and nice.

or maybe, she shouldn't see him at all.

Still, lihli had no idea what she should and shouldn't do. She was lost right now, confused and lost and frightened. She sighs in defeat, lowering her head to the ground and silently praying for mercy and forgiveness. "what are you..?" The question is so silent, a delicate whisper flowing from gentle kissers upon an elegant voice. She has to know, is he a monster? or a hero?
