The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

A season had passed between her quarrel with Kane and her acceptance into his home; something which she did not fully expect to be granted. But Kane was different, his heart bled for his family endlessly, and perhaps Stella always knew this. At every chance meeting they happened upon each other, she could see the pity in his eyes as he looked at her, and though she heard his compassionate words, she chose to discard them at the time. It cannot be said that the time passing within Diveen was easy, for it was not. She struggled with her demons with every turning of the day and it was not definite that she would be able to hold out for entirely too much longer. Her return into the social landscape of wolven kind was unexpected and chosen upon impulse alone, she was not entirely prepared for what torture her mind will endure as she lays amongst angels in the days to come. It is bad enough that she finds herself in social situations outside of the ravine pack territory.

But she cannot, and will not, spend her days entirely devoted to them. She must seek solitude - though she is given it well - away from the mumblings and hushed whispers of the Diveenian kind. Few have been bold enough, or have not cared enough, to approach her on any level and for this she is thankful. She misses the wilds of the free lands though, and for today, she will escape their clutches.

This day was dreary, the heat of the sun denied of its wishes to bear down upon her gold flecked back as she escaped from the border lines of the territory. Despite the lack of golden rays upon the land, the scenery was lit aflame by the bright cycle of the dying trees, their once green leaves turning bloodied red as their life is slowly drained from their vessels. It was something Stella has never thought on for longer than a moment, but perhaps now it is when she realized that autumn was by far her favorite time of the year. The sun was ever present to bring a burden of heat upon her, but the winds of change bring comforting coolness with them, and the days begin to shorten ever so slowly. The times in which many offspring may romp in the evening of summer become times when their mothers lay them to the safety of their beds. The night is brought forth to her earlier and earlier as the days pass.

The night, and the blanket of darkness that is brought with it, is what draws Stella in so readily. She will always be a child of the shadows, her pelage foretelling of that since she was but a day old, they understand her and accept her into their comforting embrace. It is late afternoon when she leaves Diveen’s protective borders and the oncoming of the evening approaches as she reaches the dark confines of the grotto before her. She will remain here for the night, that of which she has decided already, she must enjoy these precious moments away from what duties she must uphold as a.. pack wolf now.

It is not an easy task to find an opening that will allow her monolithic figure to slip through, but she is fortunate enough to find a crevice just wide enough for her to press through and enter into the dismal depths of the cool labyrinth.

She is quiet and slow in her movements as she makes her way through the tunnels, seeking to reach deeper and deeper into the cavern and detach herself from this world entirely. She could admit that this place reminded her much of what it was like when she had left Moladion; quiet and solitary. But there was another in her presence that ruined this pristine image in her mind, the brindled bastard who had taken so well to the wicked warrioress. It cannot be said that his attendance was a displeasure to the char pelted beast, but she was quite looking forward to her time alone amongst her own thoughts. “I simply cannot get rid of you.” It is spoken in an annoyed manner as she turns away from him, seeking to step past his taller figure; but she cannot help but sneak a glance as she nears him, her eyes sweeping over his well-muscled form quickly before she looks away.
