Ha! I am out into the world without my parents or brothers! I don't plan on going far...really! I just want to explore a bit more outside of Taviora. It has become much colder lately, but it is okay so far. I don't mind it yet. I find my tan colored paws wandering past the border of my forest home, my lavender eyes shooting back to look upon it for a moment before I let them linger ahead of me. My tail begins to wag behind me as I see the world before me. It was...large! Expansive! Huge! I wanted to see it all! But was such a thing possible? I knew for certain that I didn't want to get lost. I would just keep in a straight line to that other forest across the field.
So then I went! I charged across the brown grass, my tongue dangling out of my mouth as I go in leaps and bounds towards the other forest. I like forests, that is where I come from. I was born to look up towards big trees, to sniff the moss upon their bark, and to play among their fallen leaves. I did notice things were changing as time went on, and I was wondering if the green was ever going to return. This land is a lot more brown, a lot more crisp and less soft to the touch.
Yet none of it mattered right now. I am simply too enthralled with exploring a new area as I reach the new trees. These are trees I do not know. They do not hold the same moss, nor the same bark that I am used to. It is like they are the same but...different! My young mind is simply so enthused by this simple concept. I slow my pace, coming to a halt as I notice pools of water seem to engross the base of the trees. I do not know it now, but this is a place that many call the swamps.
I blink curiously, my form of browns wiggling with excitement as I take a step forward. My nose lowers to sniff the water, my ears perking and my paw reaching out to tap it really quickly. It causes a ripple in the still water, and I yip happily. This place was...kinda cool! I clumsily hop on a large root, climbing upward a bit and looking out over the taller grasses and into the world beyond. It was still a bit hard to see, and I wanted to see more. The tall grass was just so...tall. My paws are strange things, large and sometimes get in the way, but I do not think about that now. I awkwardly balance on the root, trying to lift my head as high as I can and yet it isn't enough. I growl in frustration, and slowly my form wobbles as I attempt to stand on my hind legs. I get a taste, a look at the world beyond and immediately my tail wags behind me. I am in awe, and I simply cannot wait to explore it!
I begin to wobble more. My mind was so sucked into look out into the swampy world, that I forgot about my body. I had started to lean forward, and I felt that familiar pull of gravity trying to take me over. My lavender eyes open wide as I feel my body losing balance. I attempt to correct it, my front paws lowering against and trying to steady myself atop the root...but it appears I am not successful. I fell my body not doing what I wish and I slide right off the root and into the shallow water. I yelp as it happens, and I land with a splash. It only comes up to my knees, but I can feel the ooze and mud caking onto my paws. I sit there, stunned, looking down as my form is covered in mud and water. I lift a single tan paw up, my nose wrinkling at the sight. Maybe this place isn't as...cool as I thought.
