The most likely place where William could have been a butler is in Hovingham Hall, the seat of Sir William Worsley, bart.

The only marriage I have for a William Blanshard and a Hannah, for that period, is the curious double marriage in York:

William Blanshard, aged 28, of York, and Hannah Kettlestring, aged 21, of York, at York St Helen, 3 Dec 1831, by Lic.

AND

William Blanshard and Hannah Kettlestring, at York St Michael le Belfry, 20 Feb 1832

I am guessing that Sir William Worsley had a residence in York.

Hope this is of some use.

Colin
