The brute was pleased to see the soldiers of Abendrot come so quickly to Marx’s call. Grey Wind made sure he was there first, wanting his presence to be known to the others, that he was their superior, their Captain along with AutumnLeaf who had not made an appearance as of yet. The large grey brute knew he was not the leader, and was not in pursuit to be, he was under the leadership of Marx in this instant and he would do whatever his Commander said of him. The brute walked leisurely through his home territory, enjoying the feeling of the earth under his paws and claws, walking around the annoyance of twigs and leaves, enjoying the momentary peace he had found. The grey brujo had not felt at piece in a long time, the state foreign to him and he did not know how to feel about it. Grey Wind was glad that he had a purpose though, his Commander telling him to travel to an enemy pack and find out what he could.
Grey Wind was much more accustomed to Abendrot now, knowing this was his true home and where he belonged, so he knew that Bright Moon was not a pack on friendly terms with them. Sneaking around Bright Moon would be tricky if they were to find his whereabouts or his motives. Of course he was not looking to get into any fights with anyone, that was not Abendrot’s goal, at the present moment anyways. But the lupine was not stupid and he knew that if a Bright Moon wolf found him, a stranger with the scent of Abendrot heavy on his pelt, he would be in a tight spot. So he knew he would have to do his best to keep himself hidden, or try to mask his scent and pretend to be a loner, exploring the packs. The brute decided that would be the best option, as he would not be able to get much information for Marx and Kershov by slinking around the borders, hoping not to get scented.
The grey brujo headed out of his packlands, heading quickly to the river that was on the outside of the territory. It did not take Grey Wind long to reach the river, pausing to sniff the air to see if anyone else was around. He was pleased to see that he had found a quiet space to himself for now, not in the mood to interact with others at the moment. It was a particularly hot day in Blossom and the brute’s thick pelt clung to his sweat soaked skin. With a satisfied sigh the large grey brute stepped into the river, enjoying the cool water as it lapped at his paws. He did not hesitate as he continued to walk into the river, plunging his bodice and head under the water. It only took a moment for his whole pelt to be soaked with the cool water. He swam to the middle of the river, his powerful legs propelling him easily in the lazy current. He swam until his muscles were sore, enjoying the workout that the river’s slight current gave him. After he began to tire Grey Wind swam back to the shore, looking for a muddy spot in the bank. When he found one he exited the water and began to roll around in the sticky muck, covering his body. He wanted to try and get as much of the Abendrot scent off of his body as possible. After he was sufficiently coated he swam back into the water, plunging his head and large body underneath, cleaning his pelt of the mud he had just covered it in. Once he was satisfied that he was clean again he trotted out of the river, shaving out his wet fur.
The brujo did not want to risk having any lingering scent on him so he decided to try and get some other pack scents on him, and besides that would help his story as well. He knew that Andere Seite and Cold Summers were not too far from the Bright Moon territory, so he headed to the other two packs to try and get some random scents on him. He ran quickly through the trees, enjoying the breeze ruffle his thick fur as it began to dry from his swim in the sun. When he reached the borders of Andere Seite he rubbed along trees here and there, picking up some of the scent of the pack. Once he was satisfied he did the same thing with Cold Summers. He did not linger long at these packs borders, as he did not want to run into any of those packs wolves, that was not his mission. Once he had successfully slunk around the packs borders, picking up some of their scents, he headed towards Bright Moon. He began to mentally prepare himself for the show he would have to put on for the wolves of Bright Moon. He was not planning on going in as the confident and strong wolf that he truly was, but rather as a homeless and nervous one.
When the brute reached the pack borders of Bright Moon his appearance changed instantly. He tucked his tail, lowered his bodice, and flattened his ears to his head, wanting to come off as unthreatening as possible. He was not sure if he should call for anyone, or just wait to see who would come by. He decided to wait, wondering how often this pack had border patrols and how long it would take them to notice a stranger at their borders. Grey Wind stood, seemingly nervous, at the edge of the territory, yellow orbs looking around to see who would come and meet him.
