aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

wolf

The black female did not speak or look up as she entered the clearing. Plume hanging limply behind her, paws dragging on the ground. She recognized the scents of her pack mates, Leila, Khaleesi, Kong, and her friend Magic, but she did not look up and speak to any of them. She addressed Kalgalath briefly before sitting by herself, finally lifting her head to see the others that were there. Her yellow orbs glanced around quickly, as if she was nervous, before she sat back on her haunches, waiting to see who else would come, trying not to think about the brute that would normally join her at these gatherings. Her heart ached when she saw Glitch limp in and sit beside his mate Magic. Chenzii had to look away, their love and happiness making her think of him, and that was something she couldn’t think about right now, or ever. She wanted to be happy for her friend that her mate was back, she knew the pains of missing a loved one, but she just couldn’t get herself to feel anything right now.

Things in the clearing grew worse for a moment when the next lupine walked in. The femme was crouched low to the ground, tail tucked between her legs as she approached the rock that Kal was perched on. She did not look at anyone or speak at all, just looked up towards her mate. Chenzii recognized Zig and she saw Kal stiffen instantly. Again, she knew the pains that the brute must have been feeling in his mate’s absence, but she was back now and that was all that mattered. Kal jumped down from his ledge, nuzzling against his mate, inviting her to come and join him up on the rock where he would address everyone. Anger boiled deep within Chenzii, a new feeling from the despair and heartbreak that had been plaguing her. Why did these lupines get there mates back and their love and happiness when he had left her, again. Not once, but twice that brute had done this to her, hurt her in a way that she never thought she could feel. How dare he leave me, again. Leave me alone in this world. Why do they get to feel such joy when all he does is hurt and abandon me? She ducked her head to hide her anger from the ones around her. She was not actually angry at them, they were her friends and family, she just didn’t know how to handle these emotions for a second time.

The black femme’s thoughts were interrupted when another female entered in a rushed state. Hellene approached Kal before going over to her daughter. Chenzii was still too angry to process the words that the female said, still not paying attention to anyone around her. The black femme forced herself to look up though and listen to Kal’s words as he began to address the group. She didn’t catch the beginning of his speech but she heard him talk about renewing alliances with packs such as Moondown Shadows and SawTooth. Maybe if Chenzii could be an ambassador for Kalgalath and Aurora Borealis then it would take her mind off of the awful things that had been plaguing her. She briefly looked down at herself as she rose from her sitting position, knowing she was in no state to approach another pack with how she looked. Her voice shook as she spoke, not used to the words coming out of her maw, ”K…Kalgalath,” she stuttered for a moment before clearing her throat and continuing, ”I can be an ambassador for you if you’d like. I…I know I may not be in the best state right now but I will ready myself to go to a pack, if you would like. I am still here to do your bidding and the bidding of this pack.” Her words grew bolder as she spoke, finally meeting the eyes of some of her packmates, but focusing primarily on Kalgalath. She waited, anxiously for once, to see what Kal would want of her. She would do whatever it was he needed of her, and if that was staying within the pack then that is what she would do.
