Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Come to me, bury your sorrow

Winter. Oh how much I loved the season winter. It brought out one of my most primal needs: sex. The females, they smelled simply wonderful, oh so tempting. Oh course, there was always that one downfall to getting my devilish ways, one rather annoying outcome: pups. Disgusting little creatures with a knack for causing all sorts of problems. They whimpered and whined when you didn't give them attention and coddle them. If I were ever to sire a litter, they wouldn't be so weak and spineless. The only good thing about pups were their malleable minds. With the right paw, I could mold them into anything I wanted, teach them all I knew. If I were a father, well my pups would learn to be killers, to take what they wanted from this world and ask for nothing less. Yes, that was how it would be.

I followed my nose this cold morning, following the scent of a female in heat. She probably already had a male hot on her heals, but just because I couldn't have the toy, didn't mean I couldn't play with it. I wasn't looking for a serious relationship, more of a one time fling. I would never be pinned to a single female. In most cases, they were weak and soft creatures, only good for bringing in more weak wolves into this world. They were so easy to manipulate, especially for such a handsome wolf as myself. My hormones raged with anticipation and would only be quelled if I got what I desired out of this day; which I would, I always did.

I moved like a predator on the prowl, following that delicious scent to the riverside. My silver gaze shined like the moon above as I searched for her form. It didn't take me long to spot the female, her pelt a snowy white clad in crimson markings. She moved slowly along the partially frozen riverbank, her mind seemingly somewhere else entirely. Her eyes held a look of someone who welcomed death, but her body language spoke of confusion. Every now and then she'd stop and just seem to ponder over something. My gaze traveled around the surrounding area, no male in sight. Which made me wonder, who would pass up the opportunity at snatching her up. With her mind so clouded I could easily work my magic

My face went from predator, to a friendly facade. I moved through the snow until I came up in front of her. I smelled no other male on her, meaning no competition. I came up in a way most nonthreatening and gave her a friendly tail wag of greeting. I smiled, but my eyes were curious as to what plagued her mind. I gave her a way to escape should she feel the need to, but I wouldn't stop perusing her if she did.

"Good morning." I said in a gentlemanly way, my intentions coming off as nothing but innocent and friendly. "Might I ask what plagues the mind of such a beautiful wolf as yourself? You seem to be a lost soul," For this I was actually genuinely curious, and it showed in the tilt of my head. I was far bigger than her, which might come off as intimidating. If she wished to keep moving I would walk beside her, but I would not come out of this day empty handed.
