News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

Return to Lunar Children
love as its meant to be
IP: 12.231.36.2

This was not the way I wanted to spend my day. Since Isola seemed to want a break from pregnancy this winter, I decided to suffocate her with love and affection to make her see how much she means to me, with or without the kids. Sure, it's great being a parent and I wouldn't trade it for anything but she's my reason for breathing and I want her to know it every day. I was going to spend the day propping up a nice little date for us today so I could dazzle her and keep her seeing why she's with me because I don't think I'll ever convince myself that I deserve someone as glorious as her.

The kids are out and we have the place to ourselves. I love my kids and I'm sure I'll run into Calliel at some point wanting to continue her training and I don't mind in the least. I always have time for my children. I plan on getting together with Shiloh some time so we can strengthen our father/daughter bond. I miss my children when they're gone. Even Achilles is distant, too busy spending time with his new mate, though I couldn't be happier for him and Vega. It's odd to think about since they were practically raised together but hey, at least they're not blood.

I find myself wandering the pack lands, wondering where that little trouble maker of a daughter has gotten herself into when I hear her glorious howl. I stop in my tracks thought because it sounds off. Something is wrong. I bolt forward, lean legs eating up the ground as I race toward the voice of my daughter and another horrifying but familiar sound. Dad? By the time I reach the scene, things ar definitely getting heated. I see Heyel grasping onto a white and gold form and pulling it free of my own father's grasp. All words die in my throat when I recognize the bloody figure as my own daughter. Calliel...no! I rush to her without a second thought, whimpering and nuzzling at her injured form, wanting to make sure she's alive, that she's going to be okay.

"Shh, daddy's here, sweet girl. Daddy's here."

I want her to know that I'm here to protect her, that I'll always be here even though inside I'm hating myself for not protecting her this time. Next my gaze turns on the dark beast whose muzzle is stained with blood, my own daughter's blood. How could he? I blink in anger at the wolf that's supposed to be my father, my child's grandfather, a figure to look up to like I did all those years. A snarl tears free from my chest. I know there are others present. My gaze sweeps over them, barely seeing. Stella, Eden, Meryl whose already tending to my daughter. Shiloh checking on her sister, Amir looking lost, and Isola, my beautiful Isola. She steps forward with a vengeance, her snarl as terrifying as it is beautiful. She shows her rank and steps beside my sister, looking fearsome in her role as she looks at my father after checking on Calliel. I know where I am needed in this moment so after making sure once more that Meryl is tending to Calliel, I step into place beside my queen and mate, eying my father like a stranger.

Isola's words are final and yet I glance to the side and see the emotion in her eyes, the tears pooling. She can't understand it either but she knows what must be done. He's a danger to the pack, to himself, to our family. If he can attack his own granddaughter, who won't he attack? I can see that something's wrong with him. His eyes are dilated and unfocused, saliva dripping from his lips like acid. He's not himself. What pushed him over the edge? But right now all I see is the wolf who attacked my daughter. My hackles bristle and my tail arches. I stand ready to defend my home, my pack, my family from anyone, including my own father, the wolf who raised me. I see Devil's gaze sweep to me in slight confusion after Isola's decree, as if waiting to see my reaction and so I give it with a cold gaze, though there's an involuntary flinch that only Isola will feel because my fur is pressing against hers.

"Leave now. You're no longer welcome here."

I add my voice to hers, my stance unyielding yet it's killing me to exile my own father. I know that Isola feels the same, that she has always thought of him as family. She grew up calling him uncle Devil. I can tell that this is killing her too. Heyel looks as if he wants to intercept but even he lets Isola takes the reins as she stands up to him for the first time, at least that I've seen. She is final in her decision but this is down to the safety of our blood and we won't stand for it.

I watch as another form slips from the shadows, my eyes blinking a few times to make sure I'm not seeing a ghost. Kiska? My own mother slips out and up to Devil's side, soothing him with her voice and the change in him is instantaneaous. He looks at her and melts and only when she looks around does he do the same and for the first time since I arrived on the scene, he actually sees what's going on. His face contorts with pain and anger but this time with himself. He sees Calliel and I can see that he understands now what he has done. He slumps in defeat, pressing against Kiska and I know that he won't fight anymore. My own muscles relax somewhat but still I'm seeing a new part of my father now, a part I don't like at all.

He leaves without issue to her pleas and I give her a subtle nod at her asking us not to follow though there are so many questions in my eyes. Why did she leave? Why isn't she dead? And why now of all times does she return? Devil didn't seem to know that she was around, at least not in Moladian. He never believed her to be dead but he didn't see her as coming back. He was accepting that, or so I thought. They disappear into the shadows and once more my attention goes to my daughter. I seek her out once more, breathing in her fragrance before I look at Meryl.

"Help her as I know you can, Meryl."

It's not a command, merely a statement that I trust him with her life. Only then do I turn to the den, smelling death and decay. Glancing over at Isola and Heyel in question, I can see that they haven't looked. I venture toward the den ever so slowly and then I see the gray huddle of fur lying motionless. I breathe in sharply and go so far as to sniff the carcass just to be sure but I already know who it is. I go back to the entrance of the den and go straight to Isola, nuzzling in her fur as I try to comfort her even as I need her comfort. I whisper for her ears only, though Heyel or someone else might hear if they're close.

"It's Natalya, my love. She's dead, within the den. Looks like she succumbed to her wounds from the last birthing."

My voice is sad, tragically so. My father has lost so much and now his soul is in ruins. It doesn't justify what he did to Calliel but at least it explains his current state. I am torn now, wishing I knew how to soothe his fractured mind but something tells me Kiska is just the balm he needed.
