Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

She has been more and more elusive, that much she knows. Reclusive, too, hiding away in the back waters of Diveen as if she were no longer welcome. For some time, she has felt herself drifting endlessly on a sea of stars, slowly waving goodbye to what she has always known as home. There is no reason, not truly, for why she feels such ways but it cannot be helped. Over and over, she has tried to repair whatever part of her is broken or missing but it cannot be done. She feels like she is not worthy of her own family. She feels like the earth does not want her so much as she wants it. Only the skies at night seem to lead her anywhere good; they allow her to smile. There is an allure to these dark places that she cannot deny, just as there had been an allure to that shadow in the Crags. She is a slave to her own curiosities, moving under the cover of darkness into the free lands, following some unspoken path. Maybe if she tries hard enough, she will become part of the wind. Instead, she fell asleep in a tangle of roots and fox scent, tucked away in the confines of an abandoned den with her nose poked out - she couldn't sleep without seeing her family in the skies.

With the sun having begun to rise, she crawled further back, intending on sleeping her day away as she did so many times before. There are many sounds not so far from her makeshift home, the sound of hooves and the sounds of wolves alike. Still, she remains put, only raising her head from her den so that she may see whatever it is that is happening. She has never seen such a thing, after all. Having been alone so often, and so lost in Diveen's own world... there was still so much she has yet to see. To witness a group make chase for an elk, and to witness so many drawn into it... it is a good omen, she thinks. The stars have lead her here for some reason though she does not understand what that reason is. Still, she is inclined to smile - a weak, small smile that seems to breathe life into her otherwise lost features. She is tired and weary but she must listen. If she did not, then surely the stars would never lead her anywhere again.

She rises slowly, the sun illuminating the peculiar patterns of her fur. She is unlike the others in her blood family - she bears no red, no violet of eyes. Instead, she is all cream and grey, speckled with stars across her hips and back. She is something unique, with eyes as bright as the very sun but she is not like any other and that, she thinks, is why she finds herself alone. Even when she rises, she is still so far from the group and it makes her nervous. How can she approach them? She does not even know why they are here. Still, she begins to move forward - slow, tentative steps, the yellow of her eyes casting between each familiar face. Which one of them was she here for? Which was her reason?
