Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

If I Look Back I Am Lost

_________________________________________________________________________

The gray femme had finally returned with her pack from a hunt that had turned out to be more dangerous than she had anticipated. She had come out with more injuries than she had planned and a few of her packmatess had received some injuries that had caused them to barely escape with their lives. Other than her broken limb Daenerys could not complain. The hunt had been very successful, giving them enough food to feed the whole pack, not just those that had gone out on the hunt. It had been her first time hunting with a pack since she came to Blossom, and she thought it was much more exciting than hunting for small game on her own like she had been doing it for so long.

The femme realized that her life had been lonelier than she thought. The hunt had been the most exciting thing that had happened to her in a long time. Nothing in her life had been exciting since she had lost him. She flinched unconsciously as her thoughts drifted back to her lost mate for the first time in many many moons. She decided on that note to head out of SawTooth and hopefully get her mind off of things. She limped slowly out of her den, her injured leg healing well thanks to her healing friend Kahlan and their skilled healer alphess Moth. They had helped her deal with the pain when it had been really bad, but it was healing well and she could handle long walks like she used to know. Daenerys enjoyed walking and feeling the sun warm her gray pelt, but it was earlier than she realized when she left her den and the sun was not yet up. She wasn’t tired enough to try and go back to sleep though, so she decided to explore somewhere new in Blossom, somewhere she had heard was a great place to watch the sunrise, Rainbow Cliff. The femme knew it would be difficult with her injured leg, but she liked pushing herself.

It took the fae much longer than it usually did to reach the base of the cliff and her mind had wandered a lot in her stumbling walk over, not being able to get her thoughts away from her lost mate and pups. She had hoped that she would find enough in Blossom to distract her from them and to help her forget them, but it seemed that she would never escape them and what had happened to them. The blood and deaths still haunted her, and it seemed they always would. She would never be able to forgive herself for what had happened to her family, and an emptiness filled her after their deaths that she had not been able to fill. The gray femme did not think that anything would be able to fill the emptiness inside her, besides perhaps a new family, but she had no idea how that could come about. Her amber orbs filled with tears, as much as she hated to show weakness and cry, she couldn’t help it sometimes, and she was glad no one was around to see her amber pools fill with her sadness. She looked up towards the sky, noticing that the sun was about to rise and if she wanted to watch it from higher up she would have to hurry.

The gray ess stepped carefully up the cliff, taking special care to watch her footing with her injured hind stilt, wondering for a second why she had been crazy enough to head up a cliff when she only had three fully working limbs. Dany was panting heavily when she saw what looked like it would have enough room for her to lie down and watch the sun, and she desperately needed a break. She took the rest of her waning strength and pulled herself up to the ledge, her pink tongue lolling out of maw as she panted. She almost fell off the ledge when she saw that the ledge was already occupied. She had not meant to intrude on anyone, and had been too busy concentrating on not falling off the cliff to notice the aroma of the brute. The femme caught herself before she slipped off the ledge, putting weight on her injured limb and grimacing in a pain for a moment before she regained her balance. ”Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to intrude, I didn’t know that anyone was up here.” She was still panting, trying to regain her breath as she spoke.

She had to lie down though, the pain in her leg was getting worse and she didn’t think she would be able to make it back down if she didn’t have a break. Pain flooded her amber orbs as she leaned against the side of the cliff, ”Do you mind if I lie down for a second? I’ll leave soon I promise. I’m sorry.” She was barely able to get the words out before sliding down to the ground, stretching out her injured leg as she did so, sighing in relief. ”I’m Daenerys by the way, what’s your name?” She finally looked upon the brute that she had so rudely intruded upon. He had a pale colored pelt that seemed to turn red with the rising sun, and she noticed a scar running across his face. His scared face did not bother the femme in the slightest, in fact it reminded her of her old mate, who had many battle wounds and scars himself. She shook her head quickly to make the thoughts of her old love leave her head, perking her black tipped audettes at the brute to discover what his name was.
