PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

YOU LEFT ME IN THE DARK

IMPAZIENZA

“A pleasure to finally meet you, Skylar,” she said, and there was warm sincerity in her tone. Here was a mare whose disappearances were almost always coupled with reappearances, and that was a start if nothing else. Impa latched onto it and hoped it had been a sign that the tobiano was as attached to the mountain as previous noteworthy mares had been. Anath had come back, hadn’t she? Stood to reason that the only reason mares who loved the mountain did not return was because they were dead.

Her right eye skimmed Skylar’s heavily swollen barrel and she blinked once in silent bemusement. She must have been so focused on Mouse that it had escaped her completely that the blue roan was pregnant. “Skylar,” she said, as if the two of them had been in the middle of an extensive but companionable silence instead of sharing quiet that only lasted a few breaths. “I’ve seen you come and go from this mountain for as long as I’ve called it home. I’ve always wondered why you haven’t stayed— and I don’t mean to pry, but you’re here so often that I would think that the Peak is where you would call home. Except there are long, long periods of time when you leave the mountain, and we don’t see you again except for brief moments when you come to visit. It’s obvious you love it here,” she added, and there was no hint of accusation in her tone (as there had been when she spoke with Mouse). “Why don’t you stay as a permanent member of the herd?”
