A'idah | Egyptian Arabian | Mare | 14.2 hands | erin

Sweltering heat enveloped her, prodding and poking trying to find any weakness that she might posses. It sweeps in through her outstretched nostrils, burning the soft reaches of her senses. She knew that this was possibly the worst time of the day to be caught out in the heat, it sapped her of what little energy remained, even reaching into her reserves. Her hooves cease their dancing, raising her arabian head higher she scans the endless sand dunes before her. Spotting a dot...its form like that of another equine but she could not be sure, the desert had a way with playing tricks on your mind. A mirage, it could easily take on any form that it wanted, transforming into an oasis or into another equine. She knew that this could be the case, the heat playing tricks on her. Caramel eyes close, hoping that when she opened them this dot would be gone, knowing than that she was seeing things. Slowly she opens them, but the dot is still there and growing in size. Nerves bubble up deep from within her chest... unsure of what this encounter would bring... She assumed that this form was the Chieftain of this lands, the stallion who had laid his scent at the border.

Hooves begin to dance once again, the only way that she could express the nerves welling up without exploding into a full out gallop back to the ocean... Lunging into its inviting cool waters, letting the salty brine wash over her crimson body. Its coolness enveloping chasing away any signs of heat, she knew that she could attempt the swim once again...Maybe aiming towards another island, she had heard that their were a few others... maybe one of them would offer her a safe haven or she could swim back towards the commons. She could seek shelter there, living out her days as a loner, she had made it this far without companionship...what was a few more years? These thoughts were so inviting but before she could place the finishing touches on her plans, the buckskin was before her... his form undoubtedly handsome...undoubtedly a mutt. Caramel eyes scan his form, taking in each of his features, almost missing his words. They were most definitely aimed at her. Pitching her ears into their utmost postion she listens quietly, contemplating why she was here? He said he meant her no harm...but A'idah was not so easy to trust a stranger.

"I have lost my way..." She did not like admitting that she was lost, but this was not the time nor the place to be prideful. She knew that he could easily chase her away... but she held her ground for the time being, she would not let him see the fear that slowly was welling up in her chest. She had battled the heat...near death, this was just another page in her book. Raising her petite head higher her courage, overwhelming her fear. "If...you could show me the way, I will leave your desert." She nods her head along with her words, she was not one to intrude another's home...this was one of the wise things her beloved father had spoke to her. Always respect of others, listen quietly, do not interrupt. A smile plays at her obsidian lips, with memories of her father, his wisdom...

Desperately she hides any weakness that threatens to overcome her... Hiding it from any who might call her weak...
