Chapter I The life of Voltaire

Oh, such a girl even shows some pretty lovely intelligence. May a god such as myself be falling in love? Perhaps, he, he. From her there came only wise words and a good skill. She was a loner as well. This female is a mystery for me. The usual anger found in other wolves is not found in this one, she just seems too good for it. The way she acts, the way she speaks. She told me that she respected her prey, for it was there to feed us, that one day it may vanish and only leave us to starve. Like what is happening to my pack. That is the reason for being here. My mission is to find another place to live. The pack is going to split in a few smaller ones, we just became too many, the food wasn’t enough for all of us anymore. The pack scattered in search parties. I had been one of the few who got a few followers to build another pack in a different place. There was no true rivalry between us it was a matter of necessity.

I agreed then proceeded to offer an alliance with her and she chuckled. My head tilted slightly as she repeated. Yes, an alliance. A temporary alliance.

I repeated, giving her own last words a little emphasis. So it did mean we had a chance to be friends, huh? That would certainly be great. Dear Wolf she says. The female turned around to head the other direction and looked behind a shoulder, calling me to go with her.

I told her and followed the wolf. Now where to hunt, where to find a good place to take down a bigger prey. An idea came to mind.

- thither is a riv'r not far, we shouldst make shift find a good prey around those places. [there is a river not far from here, we should be able to find a good prey around those places. ]

I told her, letting the female lead the way to the place, pretty sure she knew where the river was. If she lived here before me, she would surely know where to find it.
