The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

maybe
there's a god above, but all i ever learned from love was how to shoot someone who outdrew you.

(music ^^^^)

I moved with the lethal grace of a trained killer, my gait silent and deadly. I was an assassin, even when not on an assignment, I moved in silence. It had been a few days since that strange meeting where I had happened to meet the one who fate designated to be my Imprint: Eric. He was intriguing, I did not know just what to think of him yet. He made me feel, different. I didn't know I was capable of feeling such, odd feelings towards a wolf I did not know. It was not love, but it was certainly something I had never experienced in the tundra. Moving to Moladion had certainly been a bunch of new experiences.

My task to reach the coveted spot of top assassin in Spirane was simple, it was doing it faster than another that would be hard. Killing two wolves was easy enough, all I had to do was shut down my emotions and let the monster out; it was how I lived with myself when taking a life. I only killed wolves that were guilty of some crime, so I felt better about myself, and that way an innocent life was not lost. This time constraint would be the death of me, if I decided too quickly and killed an innocent, I don't think i'd ever be able to live with myself. Yet if I took too long in deciding and the other wolf accomplished his tasks first, well i'd loose my chance completely.

I don't know why I was drawn back to this hellish cave system, the only thing I had encountered here before was the demon queen. This was the place I had saved my friend Natu from the blood thirsty attack of Lillith. Its hard to imagine what might have happened if I wasn't there to drive Lillith off of the unconcious Natu. The poor white female from Spirane had been ambushed from behind, tossed into a ravine. She now suffered black outs and something strange happened to her, I wasn't sure what to do about it. The only thing I could think of was to become her protector and to try and be there as much as possible so she didn't get herself into trouble. And now I was going back to the seen of where it had all happened.

Winter was at an end, but the grotto was still full of snow due to its colder temperature. It would take far longer for the snow in here to melt without the warm suns rays piercing down on it. As I neared the entrance to one of the caves, my ears twitch to attention, picking up the distinctive, panicked cries of a rabbit coming from inside. Rabbits did not venture inside these caves unless they fell in or were brought in my a predator, and even then they were either eaten or managed to escape once more. My hackles rose up suspiciously as I started into the darkness, the cries reverberating around the walls.

My icy gaze saw the small creature struggling, its foot caught beneath a large stone. The situation was peculiar and my guard was instantly raised. I began to descend to where the rabbit was, my focus on the rodent and less on my silence. As I got close enough to see the rabbit closer, my eyes widened in shock and then narrowed, my ear falling back. I stopped, just before stepping on one of the sharp stone that was hidden and would have pierced my pad. My lips raised and a growl rumbled through the cave. A wolf had set this trap.

Using my paw, I gently and carefully cleared some of the snow away, revealing the sharp stone that had been hidden. My blue gaze looked around before landing on a ledge where a white and crimson wolf lay, watching me. I knew he was the monster that laid this trap. I glared at him, a snarl causing my fur to stand on end. "She finds this to be sick," I say, my words full of anger for the sicko who thought this was a fun idea.
