Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

The feel of a warm touch, a brushing tongue reaches the child. Her fur was being cleared of the dust that greyed each strand so the white and silver could show through, each touch of wetted tongue bringing a small shiver upon her skin. Did she realize this wasn't the same mistress who birthed her, it matters not. For this was surely Mother, as she had come for her. Was it not?

Cadenza's voice rang a wavering little chirrup, for the nights are still cold on a young pup some of the time. Her fur was nearly downy fuzz upon her skin, and the growing spots of cleaned fuzz had less to no ash therein to make her warmer with. So she had but one option; to snuggle into the warmth that she could feel beside her. That warmth that she knew was surely Mother.

The wind whispered in the trees, Seek ye out? Or have you found? Young princess's melody is softly unspoken. Yes, yes, I have surely found. For who else would take me in but Mother? The thought pulled her closer into the wolfess's bosom, cuddling her fur as best as she could. She felt more than heard the howling, being basically buried in warmth. Beyond that, she felt something else. What was it? She leaned herself more into Mother's form for that. It scared her. She felt a different sort of vibration, and this one, she specifically didn't like.

Rustling sounds seemed to accompany a slight rumbling in the earth, and Cadenza's little body shivered again. Who was coming? If not who, what? She worried for a moment, settling as close as she could into Mother. She was little, but could she protect Mother if someone came to hurt her? The thought made the little child nervous. Mother, be alright!

She heard sounds, sounds that felt like she should understand. They were not growls, they were not hisses. More like conversing sounds, with hints of strange vibrations in them, too. For lack of better knowledge what to do, the pup let out a meek mewl. Mother? What is happening now?
