Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Galileo and Pandora had begun to grow quite wonderfully, now capable of roaming about the den on their stumpy legs. They were becoming more and more curious each day, investigating new foods and scent. There was little more that could make her so happy; their arrival had patched holes in her heart, bringing her yet another purpose to a life she had seen as forsaken only years ago. Though things were still... unstable in Spirane, she at least had they and Pan as a constant. Still, curiosity needed to be sated and she needed to stretch her legs out. With Pan dutifully watching - or experimenting - on them, she had taken off down the mountains to find something new for her children. She often took them feathers, new stones or small bleached bones to keep them occupied. Today, she'd find something completely new.

She begun her search of the woodlands, poking her nose into each fox hole in search of some new trinket. She searched by the moss coated rocks, sniffing wearily at unusual plants only to find that Spirane, too, had them plentiful enough. She wanted something totally foreign to them - then she heard it. It was a kick in her stomach, a sudden lurching as she rose suddenly, eyes wide and ears tall. A child! Not her own but that same sad call they made when they had grown tired of their own company, or when they had accidentally rolled away from her during the night. She whined low beneath her breath, pawing at the loam before taking off towards the cry.

It took her some minutes to find him, lodged away out of sight. So young, so small and the scents around him lay stale. This was no home, no make shift den... had someone simply left him? It was illogical! Why would anybody turn away such a beautiful child - any child? She huffed, calling out to anybody else who might have been in the area... nobody.

Pan would accept it, surely. It gave him... more study material. The thought made her roll her eyes for a moment, finding it folly to even try to find reasoning. He'd accept it because he'd want to save a life, too. She knew it. With the decision made, she made her move, pulling him towards her for some moments to allow him the warmth of her body. Once the cries had stopped, she would begin their journey back to their new mountain home.

He had a home now, the little child of the hollows.
