Cress is based off of Rapunzel. But really I got her name from Marissa Meyer's awesome Lunar Chronicles series... they're like retellings of princess stories. The first one, Cinder, is based off of Cinderella-- the second book Scarlet is based off of Little Red Riding Hood and the third one, Cress, is (wait for it)... Rapunzel. Winter, the fourth book will be coming out... this winter? Or next year, I have no clue. And that one is Snow White. But although you can kinda tell what might happen, the story is so out there and new that you're scrambling for more each and every page. The books only get better too... so if you've been reading this all the way through, I recommend those Lunar Chronicles. They're freaking awesome. Read them.
