When a happy squee came from Heinen's lips, a nickname that I secretly had already given him, but didn't voice it; made my head bob up in surprise. I wasn't expecting such an excited response, but then again I was new to him as he was to me, so I just laughed lightly. As I turned my attention to his mother I felt little breathes gust softly upon my leg and I glanced down slightly a bright grin cracking my lips. Well, at least he likes me a bit.
Then my ears stayed, to what seemed like a permanent stance,forward as Gandy spoke. Giving her own nudge to my shoulder and I didn't speak, not yet. Due to her still speaking and fear of my own voice cracking. Showing further vulnerability right now would seem rather odd. Since Gandy knew me for the bright eyed mare I usually was. 'You do not need to apologize Azazel. We all have our demons to conquer but I am here if you need to talk. Whatever has happened in your past, the forest will be different. I can promise that.'
Even though Gandy's words were meant as truth I still felt the doubt gripping and ripping me apart on the inside. How could one forget their past when the curse is engraved in their own name? The word demon even made me flinch, for that is what my name had meant. My very birth was the start of a war between my 'family' and so the rumor of me being a demon was set with my title, for life. Shaking my head and pushing the thought aside I looked to Gandy with reinforced doors. Thank you Gandy, but... My story is a long one and it is a bit depressing. I haven't told anyone of it. You only know a fleck of it. I... I don't want to be ripped from things that are important to me yet again. So, I thought I should leave before it happened. Ask away I'll tell the truth. The past is part of me and I know I can't run from it. That much I do know, but for now I'd like to enjoy the awake hours with the nephew and darling sister. When he is asleep I can tell you, but only if you want. If Gandy wanted to know I'd tell her, but only if she truly wished to know. Only she would be the only other living soul to know.
