's me, Rom. That sound was specific to Eriel, and Romulus almost turned and took off at the sound of it. Something, though, kept his feet glued to the terra firma, staying him against his will to flee. Not that it would do much help. He would probably fall flat on his face within the first three steps if he tried to do so in the rain anyway. A soft pressure against his breast had his ears pivoting towards her in no time, a curious expression twiddling at the edge of his kissers. Was she... shaking? Normally he would have made a snide comment about it, but seeing as this was sort of a romantic situation, the beast just stayed put, allowing her to make the call on whether or not she wanted him there. He probably smelled wretched though. (NOT that he was concerned about his smell at all... maybe just a little) Like blood, sweat, wet dog, a few bitches, maybe some dirt... and rain. And now he was going to smell like Eriel too. Perfect. Just the kind of cherry he wanted on top of his perfect day.
Rom-- He let out a 'mm' and waited for the rest of her lyrics to flow out. It was the kind of sound you wish a man would make when you woke up beside him and he tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear. It was probably one of the only moments that Romulus would ever show his true colors to the miss. Allow himself a moment of sanity before he was tugged back into the rushing way that life had carved out for him. However, Rom didn't catch onto the waves of hesitation that were coming off her pelt until just before she spoke, and his head turned nastily to the side, that attitude showing back up again. Romulus, open your eyes. The brujo inhaled sharply, suddenly aware of everything around him. The way the wind smashed against the tree trunks that no doubt were slashed with Axel's claws... Rom's own claw marks had been going up the tree since he was but a pup, always looking up to the figure of his grandfather whom he had never met. He'd gotten pretty close about three weeks ago, before his eyes started bothering him, shadowing on the sides and blurring out the shapes. The way the rain hit his pelt, siding past a few hairs before finally settling in closer to his flesh, or, in most cases, gathered together with other droplets and rolled right off of him. And then there was Eriel. Since when had he grown taller than her? If her head had hit his chest, then her skull would come to right just below his jawline. Masculine muscles tensed under his cloak now, his hackles stiffening. Lips parted to let loos a group of libretto that weren't exactly thought all the way through in his head before he spoke them. No.
The word was filled with every bit of malice, hate, anguish, sadness and impatience that Romulus had ever stored inside him. Why? He was pushing her away again. He had allowed her a sweet moment next to him, but that was all she was going to get. At least... he thought it was. Until he realized just how much his words stung even in his own mouth, puncturing the sides of his cheeks as if they were shards of glass. He softened his voice to smooth and gentle tones. Eriel was, after all, a princess. He needed to treat her as such. Nothing would make me open my eyes to you, Eriel. Hell in its newborn state is not a pretty thing, and such a sight is not worthy of your eyes to behold. He felt so insecure now, wishing that he had taken them out at a different time, perhaps the next day, or the day before. Ah well... nothing he could do about it now. But then, more words started flowing off of his tongue. A cascade of letters put together to form a sentence that he wasn't even thinking about. It didn't hurt. Why was he lying to her? Why was he making up excuses? It was easy enough to figure out hte answers to this. It was always the same. Rom knew that Eriel always had that sort of effect on him. The effect where he wanted to comfort her. Make sure that she was okay, and that nothing bad had or was going to happen to her.

Now he really had to divert the attention away from himself. Stop getting all gentle and shit with her. Romulus shook his pelt, hoping to dislodge some of the literal water weight that was clinging onto it. It worked for a bit, but then the rain just resubmerged him in its grasp once more. He recalled that she had been shaking before. Had she been crying, or was she cold? Let's get you inside. He moved himself so that he was by her side, and then tried to remember exactly where he had come from, and where he was now. It came back to him in pieces, and more than once, while he was leading her, he paused and recalculated, trying to find the most ideal way. He honestly didn't know where her den was, or even if she had one. And frankly he didn't want to impose on Pandora's, Sophie's r Odessa's because... Pandora hated him, Sophie had pups and an overprotective guard dog and Odessa... well Odessa would poke fun, pry and finally see just why Romulus had not taken Eriel to her sooner. Because he couldn't see. So he led her to the only place he really knew of. His own 'home.' Not much of one really. Due to spring rainstorms, his tree that he had taken home in had fallen over, revealing itself to be pretty spacious on the inside once Rom had dug some of the wood out. God those splinters had hurt. It would easily fit two regular sized vargs, but with kalaks... just one and maybe a third-- half if lucky. Once they were there, he pushed her inside of the tree and settled himself outside, plopping himself on the ground with his head on his paws (facing the opposite direction from her so she couldn't see him) and didn't say a word.
