Lyden seemed more then pleased that I went to lay beside him. Thank goodness. A silent sigh of relief escaped my lips, but when he spoke I listened. Staying dead silent as his words shocked me. 'You’re welcome my dear girl although I must thank you as well. You stepped up in the herd and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate everything you’ve done and do.' When he leaned into me I had a questioning glance on my face. What had I done to dereve thanks? I don't remember anything about stepping up. Had I? Again I stared at him as he begam speaking again. 'You my sweet angel know how to express the one thing I’ve never been able to and often question if I really understand it, and that’s true intimacy. Everything about you is calm and reassuring, you are just a born natural kind leader and because of this you will go far.'
A sudden rush of heat came over me as he said this. Oh, how thankful I am for not blushing, but I hid my face behind his shoulder. The first time anyone has said that to me ever. Angel, he called me, but it hasn't ever been that case. Demon was always what I've been called. I couldn't help but nudge into him at this point and when I spoke it was as if a filly had just experienced her first flirty encounter. I hardly think so Lyden, but thanks.
When I had collected myself from my flattered state I watched as Lyden became absorbed in thought. I wondered what it was, but didn't have to wait for long. He spoke on his own accord. 'You and I are the same in the aspect of avoiding the herd. I’m not sure why but I just don’t want to deal with the tension of this whole trade that’s happened. Everyone I feel thinks I did it on impulse and that’s just not the case.I made a promise to caesisus in the falls that I would do whatever it took to get her here with me, I didn’t want to hurt anyone else in that process and I know I did which I feel terrible for and someday I hope to make it right at least with Fantazer.' So, the trade was eating him up inside as well.
Looking over to a buzzing bee I gave some thought to what I should say. This was a touchy subject all in its own. When I thought of something adequate I turned back to him. Gently, but firmly my voice didn't waver. I will admit I myself was a little bitter towards the decision. Fantazer really did adore you, she didn't say it, but you could tell. Her eyes were always warm and open. To be honest I was mad. Not just at you, but myself as well. If it weren't for me then all three of those girls wouldn't have been ripped away. I know what it's like to have everyone whose important to you torn from you in the blink of an eye, and I caused that. Although I felt happy at the same time. My feelings on the matter are mixed. I turned my head to try looking at his pale face.
But Lyden you had to make a very hard decision. One with a bitter sweet end, but all in all you kept your word. Proving that when you give your word that you will do everything possible to make it happen. Your words aren't false and that is a hard quality to find these days. When you made said choice you knew what would happen and are taking it head on. All the difficulties and emotional pain put upon your shoulders. You're not running and that I think will get them to forgive you. Smiling gently I nuzzled his neck.
Then pulled back with a teasing tone. They'll forgive you for your efforts oooor they can't resist those eyes of yours. Either way they'll come around Lyden. Time will tell and give you results. Putting my head on his back I gave a long sigh. Jeez make me sound like an elderly mare, I'm only four for goodness sakes. I should stop talking so old. After I was done a faint smile caressed my features.
