Restlessly he’d paced, high above where he knew the fight carried on. He could hardly deny that he had been surprised to hear his sister’s call on the wind that day, his ears perking in disbelief. It was known, of course, that she would someday come back for her throne. Even in his promises to serve Purge, he had always known that if it came down to a feud between a party of Dany’s wolves and a following of Purge’s, he would side with Dany every time. But she was only five, young to be certain. Doing his best to distract himself, he moved higher up the mountain, pacing along a well trodden path through the pines.

It seemed like hours that he wore his paw prints into the path, though in reality the fight was over quite quickly. Of course unbeknownst to him she moved further into the pack lands after her victory, only prolonging his waiting. When her howl echoed off the mountain once more, this time with an authority only a trueborn Queen could muster, his head flung up and he answered in a short, excited howl of his own. And then he was off, flinging himself down the mountain as fast as his legs could carry him. He knew the paths of descent well, and leapt down them in quick succession.

Finally reaching level ground, he lengthened his stride and galloped towards the location where he knew her to have called the meeting from. It was Alcide’s old favorite spot to sunbathe. As he came upon the gathering, he slowed to a walk. He was not the first to arrive – understandable with how far up the mountain he had been. Natu and Pan were already present and had concluded whatever introductions they had given. The movement behind Daenerys made the fur on his neck stand up, and he nearly attacked the wolf – thinking it was some minion of Purge’s come to attack the new Queen when she was vulnerable. But recognition dawned upon him, and Sleekwing continued forward to his originally intended position. He smiled at Natu, a wolf he considered a friend, and came to rest beside her.

Lifting his gaze to the newfound Queen, he dipped his head in respect. “Welcome home, Daenerys. I have missed you, my sister. The mountain shall do well to have you back.” He loved his family dearly, and his heritage gave him a sense of duty towards the mountain. Regardless of who might rule the summit, he had devoted himself to the wellbeing of the very land itself. Protecting the mountain was his duty, and he knew Daenerys would put him to good work to do so under her reign.
