Georgie

Falling into step slightly behind Akuji, Georgie watched his tall form move ahead easily. Her large ears perked forward keenly as he began to speak. It is led by the children of Axel, blood pure and of one of the royal lines. Caspian and…his sister Odessa rule on a paired throne. Caspian is mated forever in both love and vow to his other sister, Sophie. They have pups now though I don’t know their dubbances. In fact there are many of our kind there, as I’m sure you have heard. Soon enough, the lady found herself lost in his language; eloquent, elevated, it in itself held such a connotation. To her, a girl from the brush, Akuji spoke of some sort of a fairytale, even though it was somewhat removed from the true Royals. To her, it was a world of fantasy and true to her nature, one she very much wanted to explore.
His next words came rather abruptly, rather crudely - yet their concept did not hold any surprises for Georgie. It is strange to me but there are other breeds there, ones I care naught for, who are trusted and honored with ranks. I do not particularly enjoy their company, so though I know details about them, I do not find them worthy of my time. Or yours. And here was something to which the stunning ess was no novice. She may have grown up far removed from any royalty, but her pack had been… exclusive. Red fur, long legs and wide ears were abundant - if not the monopoly. Where she expected families of royalty differed, was in their comportment and elegance. Georgie had had an easy life before now. Her peers had regarded her with reverence, her mentors with excitement, her leaders with the gaze a hoarder does a special item. The only things that saved her from a character worthy of mud…? Blessed with a flawless physical appearance, the angel-like canid also invested herself emotionally as deep as was possible… and she dreamed, fiercely and without bounds. From a different perspective she might have seen herself not heading happily towards Cold Summers, but catapulting at terminal speed towards a barren part of her race’s nature.
Although she felt somewhat flattered by Akuji’s suggestion that she was above these other impures as they seemed to be to him, Georgie grasped for a last time at her quickly dissipating independence. A twinkling smile charmed her features, and a musical laugh simmered through the air. Privately, behind her carefree smile, Georgie turned Akuji’s words over; wrapping her mind around them, she picked and prodded leaving nothing unturned, reserving her own right to decide her time. I’m sorry… I am sometimes rough around the edges. Growing up in the castle of the royals provided… a narrow view of the world. Despite her silence at this, a flicker of reasoned understanding crossed over her eyes. A narrow view. Wasn’t that what she had been afraid of, what she had set out to avoid? Yes, she could understand Akuji on that… sympathize with his impressive upbringing and forgive his discrimination… or was she accepting it, becoming chiselled by it herself? Cold Summers is safe. Our pups… will be safe. The suggestion drew a larger smile. Excitement shimmered, not just in those chocolate pools, but all over her face. After a moment, not wanting Akuji to feel that their conversation was limited, Georgie cocked her head, trotting to keep up even with her fluid stride. Tell me about Caspian and Odessa… I don’t want to be an imposition to them, and if there are pups…. The words felt alien on her tongue, as if she was trying to speak of a topic she knew nothing about - which was true she didn’t. The whole thing, on the side of being strangely enticing to her, seemed abrupt and perhaps, though even now she trotted in Akuji’s path loyally, somewhat “matter of fact”. The mildly unsettling inkling didn’t irk her much as ironically, pups were the one thing she hadn’t dreamed of, not really.
