News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

I suppose I hadn’t really expected myself to go unnoticed, at least not entirely. It’s only so late at night that it might actually be morning- why would I think I was alone? Not like it’s logical or anything. I think I might be sarcastic. Father said I shouldn’t do that, he said sarcasm is a fools attempt to hide his lack of education. I think maybe I’m just not really all the funny. Then again, if I wanted others to laugh at me, would that really be so bad? I struggled to pick myself up on short limbs, dusting dirt from the earth of my pelt, each dark chocolate strand smoothed haphazardly. I remembered this colour, or at least, I think I did- back in my dreams, when I’m taller and faster and my eyes are…different, back when I’m searching for someone I can’t seem to find. I was interrupted by the sound of the older male of dark and brown and white as he jumped down beside me, my name already on his lips as I found a smile for him all the same. I have a lot of smiles, I think this one suits the occasion, kinda of ‘hey, how are you’ but not to much like ‘oh my gosh I’m so happy’. Wouldn’t want him to think I’m exuberant or anything. I don’t remember ever having met him, so how he knows my name I can’t say, maybe Father told him- how very organized. Why we had to go I wasn’t entirely sure, golden eyes lifted up to his own, lips parting to speak when he decided to manhandle me, lifting me up by my scruff until my paws dangled above the earth.

“Alright then.”

It was something of a mumble, the words jolted from me as he started running, my opinion on that matter apparently not all that important and yet I suppose I was used to that. I don’t really mind I suppose, if it makes those around me happy I don’t see any real need to protest. I can’t say I really enjoyed the swinging, then again it’s more exciting then any trip Mother or Father have ever taken me on, content to let myself be carried around as my head stretched and turned, trying to see exactly what we…or he….was running from, eyes widening slightly at the rush of snow that seemed to be chasing us.

“Well fancy that.”

I suppose being so young I could be forgiven for not knowing exactly what it was. I think I might pretend it’s some sort of giant white bear that growls and snarls and chases us, while we are two warriors sent to do battle. Although, I think maybe since I’m being carried I might have to pretend Leo is my noble stead instead, it works. Oh…look out…noble stead is down. I think I managed a yelp of sorts, my imagination momentarily ruined by the wolfs stumbling as he paws swept frantically at the ice and rock a slither of actual fear managing to claw at me before he managed to scramble back up, lunging upward and into a cave, my little chocolate body tossed from his jaws as I toppled onto the floor. I seem to be falling down a lot today, managing to climb to my feet once more only to have Leo yell at me again, limbs moving to leap forward before I was shoved backwards. I’m not really sure why adults give commands if they don’t want to give you a chance to follow through and just want to shove you. I don’t think….I liked commands….I don’t remember, I think maybe sometimes I confuse my dreams with my reality. Maybe I am lacking spatial awareness. The roar of the snow is almost deafening as it slams into the entrance way, locking off the path we had taken inside as I simply stared. I’m not really sure what else I was supposed to do, I hadn’t seen this before.

Leo collapsed against the floor. I think maybe he was tired from being my Noble Stead. That’s alright, some games are tiring, I understand, my head tilting slightly with his words as the met my gold tipped ears, his question seeing a frown touch my young face. Was there anything I wanted to say? My Father does not ask open ended question, maybe this being the reason for my not having understood what he wanted as I moved to sit at his paws, golden eyes blinking toward him. He clearly seemed to want me to say…something and I really don’t want to disappoint him, I mean, he did all that running.

“You have big feet.”

It’s not like I give out compliments a lot, so I don’t know why he wouldn’t be happy with that. I think maybe I’d like to have big feet, or just bigger feet. Sometimes I get worried I’ll always have little feet and I’ll grow a little body to match them and that I’ll forever be mistaken for a sorta of…muddy fox instead of a wolf. Like I said though, I’ve seen my parents and I think size might have been a bit to much to hope for. Oh well. I wonder where the door out of here is?

"I liked your running and like....all the desperation."

Maybe I hadn't exactly grasped the seriousness of the situation, then again, I was like.....all of a month old and I kinda suppose I thought it was a game of sorts. A bit of a spontaneous one, but that's alright I don't mind surprises, they are much more fun the fathers facts and logic. I don't know a hole lot about life, I haven't tried it for long yet really, but i think maybe it's more fun not to know whats coming. Maybe that is why Father gets so very annoyed with me- he saw me coming.
