PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

YOU LEFT ME IN THE DARK

IMPAZIENZA

It had not been her intent to lecture the other mare, and Impa turned her head away to look out over the land to cloak her embarrassment at her own social faux pas. It wasn’t as if Black Heart Machine wasn’t already aware of such things. For the first time in what seemed like a long time, Impa had not been as specific as she could have been when speaking. It was not a mistake she would soon make again.

She did not bother to respond, preferring to move on from that topic as soon as possible. Instead she turned her head back to the dark, elegant mare and felt a moment of envy. Impa would never be that beautiful, but it was a thought that the half-blind mare pushed away with irritation: she was done with such shallow thoughts. She blinked and when her focus returned to the outside (her internal conflict over in a matter of seconds) she found that Black Heart Machine held her gaze. It was almost mesmerizing to meet the eyes of the black Akhal-Teke for so long.

Impa did not regret her question. To her it was valid— not even the famed Codebreaker was exempt from that inquiry. Anath certainly had not received anything less. If anything the former General had gotten a snappier reaction upon her return to the Peak— but that was because Impa knew her, and knew her well enough to feel comfortable broaching the subject of Anath’s absence so informally. It may not have been the best way but she did not regret that, either. As the black mare’s gaze softened, Impa dropped hers for a moment and took a deep breath before lifting her gaze to meet Black Heart Machine’s eyes again.

“I do,” she admitted, and freely. There was no injury to her pride here. “We need leaders here. I will support you if you choose to step back into your post as Codebreaker. I did not know you well when we lived on the Peak at the same time, but when I met you today your reputation preceded you. Welcome home, Black Heart Machine.” Impa dipped her nose in a deep nod. She had no doubt that further conversations with the shrewd Akhal-Teke would strengthen the respect the half-blind mare currently felt for her.
