The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Return to Lunar Children

is truth worth more than lies?

How well his children were growing. He watched from a distance as they took to their clumsy paws and tumbled over themselves in the agony of childhood. Nothing and everything escaped their attention, for they would look upon a situation and yet not know the true consquences. A few times he had been to visit Naamah since their birth, always to bring small treats, yet he was bitter and resentful. It was hard to hide at times; he expected her swarthy eyes to know well what he was expereincing yet she kept Samil around. What did he expect anyways? He was a selfish creature, it only seemed right that he should be so bound to another creature just as selfish. Nothing was tying him to her other than their children and it annoyed him more not that she was spending time with Samil but that the male was attempting to nudge Enderly out of the picture. Enderly felt no real overwhelming love for the scrawny creatures but they were his. Sanguine especially for she took after him. It was so painfully obvious - that fact alone cheered him up. Samil must hate to look upon the girl nursing at Naamah's teet and see Enderly's child.

Today he crept through the crags on silent, light paws to watch from a corner as Naamah fell into a slumber. On this hour he felt his own resentment like a dull knife so he wasn't disappointed when she drifted off. He had planned to check in quick before going off in search of... other things. But he was interested as he watched the sneaky look on his daughter and then she bounded off. For a moment he stands watching as her tiny form is swallowed up in the caverns before he sweeps after her, passing the inert form of his lover in silence.

What could his child be doing? It sparked an interest in him; was her mind as clever as his? Naamah was certainly sharp and together, well, perhaps Sanguine was a genius. He catches sight of her as the sunlight cloaks her dark figure and thinks that she will be as lovely as Naamah as she grows. Enderly seats himself in the middle of the hall with a smug sort of smile upon his maw. Does she know he is here? Are her oversized ears quick or is he quiet? "Why does my daughter play in the shadows and not in the fresh air?"

enderly.
