She was prompt enough and truly the boy is given to believe he likes this quality in a leader, his head tilting ever so slightly once more in a nod of recognition to her own morning salutations before he proceeds to explain in detail why he is here and why it is better this meeting be held within the mornings before her feminine brain became incapable of understanding the greater picture. It was hardly her fault, since has simply proven such things, his own mind, he feels, far more active within the evening and yet truly considering the exceptional abilities of himself he is given to believe that perhaps such findings apply only to the average male- not those given to exception. As it is however, he is given now to turn his glorious golden head towards she whom has claimed this throne for herself, as willing to offer his services to her as he had been those before her. He is hardly a disloyal creature, more so, he simply craves a job to do, desires to greatly to be recognised as once he had been for Bahamut and Weylin after him. He had taken up the position of advisor to the Scotavia King before he had been a year old, such was his ability and indeed he feels somewhat entitled- perhaps, to be of some use. He is tired of being wasted, tired of being brushed aside and ignored. He had never led his Leaders astray, not once and yet evidently his sterling record had meant little to those whom had come before. Perhaps, this Queen, will finally be given to see the charcoal-eyed boy for the skill and asset he is, rather than merely a talkative annoyance.

That she should seek information on the leaders before he is not unsurprising, golden ears held forward as those strange black eyes rest upon her, the information so neatly ordered within his head as he regards her momentarily, the words barely free of her lips before he moves to offer his answer. Social graces, perhaps, have not always been his forte, the boy forever speaking his mind in a manner entirely free and while perhaps this was given to…agitate some, there is indeed something to be said for one whom simply does not obey this social convention. He is, if anything, an honest creature and yet one whom remains content to keep to himself his thoughts on his competition in this moment. Lavender is a frequently absent creature whom has seen little beyond the mountain, of Orca he thinks similarly. The girl was untrained in pack affairs and politics. Besides, to allow family to advice family is not a pertinent choice and truly he hardly believes Daenerys foolish enough to truly consider the idea. He will however, not offer his advice on that in these moments, after all, he is inclined to believe his advice on such matters may contain bias and really that was hardly a positive trait, nor helpful. For now, pack matters take priority.

“During her first reign Purge feared retaliation after Taliesin moved against her, she feared dissention within her own ranks to which I advised her to show contrition for the deaths of your parents. I advised her that if she did not offer remorse for this then she would risk losing much of the pack to Diveen, whom took in a number of young ones already and with open arms. Purge was perhaps a capable leader and yet her foundation was flimsy. She constantly feared attack from within the pack itself and was right to do so, for Snowshoe challenged her leadership. To be challenged from within your own pack is a symbol of disorder, it does not bode well for pack or the Alpha itself. A Pack should be it’s Alpha’s greatest support, not an army that needs to be forced down time and again. My advice however, did work, Purge held a funeral of sorts for your parents and the pack saw her in a different light perhaps. Maybe they did not fully desire her leadership- but they accepted her apology- the first step to a more solid foundation.”

He paused momentarily, moving to adjust the position in which he sat.

“Of Snowshoe I knew little, she took the pack easily from beneath Purge, for Purge was a careless leader. Had she sought my consul further I would have been entirely capable of assisting her with such things, as it was, she vanished for a time, Snowshoe’s reign was barely 14 moons before Purge returned, this time seeking advice on how she may go about remaining unchallenged. That is impossible. There will always be a challenger but there are measures that can be taken to weaken the resolve of those whom seek to take your pack from you and make the pack appear more powerful then it truly may be. Let us mind-map for a moment.”

The barest hint of a grin seemed to touch those gorgeous features in this moment before the small male rose to his heavy paws once more, brushing against the Alphess, gesturing indeed that she should follow as he moved to seat himself atop the edge of the mountain ledge they resided near, much of Moladion stretching out below them and within clear view. Far better then any flow chart he may have drawn, he is sure.

“When your parents died, the pack suffered greatly, I helped them to begin to see Purge in a new light because it was asked of me and because I am entirely capable of such things, yet as I said, a leadership built on a death is a flimsy and breakable thing. Your leadership is already stronger because of your birth, we merely have to add to the foundation. Consider the packs you see before you, ignoring now Spirane, tell me- which of the packs below do you admire most? Which leader do you respect?”

He paused a final time, ears held forward, interest and curiosity held clearly within his gaze.

“I was born before the sky fall, there is very little history I actually don’t know, so let me tell you something of what I do before you answer. Iromar is ruled with an iron paw- it has not been challenged in years, but each leader collapses, Bahomet and Ishtar after him both fell form their own thrones. Glorall is ruled well and evenly, it’s Alpha was born of Alpha blood, born to be respected and has brought stability to the ocean. Taviora is new and young, Coza, a warrior of Diveen earned his place and his right to lead, none would ever belive he was not born to it. Diveen, perhaps the oldest of packs, it’s Leader born as you, to rule, a leader long mistaken for being gentle, for being kind and perhaps she is- yet Diveen has never been defeated, Diveen has never fallen and remains the largest pack of all because is Alphess. Consider then…which of them you respect and then consider why? Which pack would you most fear to challenge in a war?”

If she has no answer for this, Pan thinks, then perhaps she should not be leading at all. After all- a leader must always have an answer. Perhaps he is to be tested- yet why can he not test her in turn?
