Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Dark, dark! The Horror of darkness, like a shroud, wraps me and bears me on through mist and cloud. -Sophocles

Massive though Enderly is to the pair, he is still smaller than many of the wolves, but the sly way in which his father looks upon them makes Underidge uneasy. Now that Sarabi was backing towards him, also growling at the male, he had a moment to eye the figure and remember the faint face of this male. Their mother had explained - rather choppily - that Attu was his father as was this male. That didn't make sense to Underidge. How could Enderly be his father and Attu as well? Not that he much cared for Attu either. Maybe it was the goodness around him that seemed to chime within Ellie as well. Whatever the case the way Enderly grins at them, taunting in his own way, intrigues Underidge.

Still he wouldn't abandon his sister for anything and presses a sholder against hers the moment she is next to him. It is an act of solidarity between them to reassure the other that they are together. One day when he is older Underidge will wonder about Sarabi when she finds her true soul or when she finds the heart within her beats for another and he will ponder on his own jealousy at having lost the attention of one so close to him. But he is not old now and she is not going anywhere. In his head he had whispered never when she had told him to never reject her.

He would be nice to Ellie from now on - at least while mother or Sarabi were around. Otherwise he would ignore the girl with the weeping tears. He didn't need all that in his life. But Sarabi worried about Banshee's sorrow and Underidge loved Sarabi more dearly than even his own mother so her pleas did not fall on deaf ears. Annoyed ones, yes, but not deaf.

Underidge stops growling and one ear perks up to catch his sister's demand while eyeing the male before them. Wolf-eating bears? No way. He was still a young boy and boys enjoyed such tales of horror; his small face scrunched up in disbelief. "No there isn't. Show us, then!" Again with the demands, but he does not cower before Enderly and shoots a daring glance to Sarabi, wondering if she too would join this new game. "I know who you are. We don't need no babysitter, father." The last word is mocking, challenging.

*ENDERLY*
My, my, Enderly thinks. What a temper this young brute has on him. If he wasn't in such a good mood he might decide to set the boy straight. After all he is but a pup and Enderly is full grown. It would be but a simple thing to do to topple the children beneath him and hold them down. Probably not a good way to get in their good graces, but he can see the curiosity in the back of his son's eyes at the mention of bears. Sarabi, however, does not seem to care. In silence he watches as she backs away to stand next to her brother and he tries to puzzle it out. He had siblings once, somewhere.. but he had never been close to anyone. It wasn't in his nature. Yet these two seemed thick as thieves. Oh well, at least they were both his blood.

"I didn't say babysitter since a babysitter might not fend off a wild bear or a boar... but I suppose you don't need an escort either. A guide then?" His silver eyes twinkled, reflecting in the silver of his sons. "What of you, girl? Do you wish to see wolf-eating bears? Or maybe wild hogs with tusks thick enough to gore you?" Games. Tempt them with games.
