PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

THE SEA KNOWS THE TASTE OF BLOOD.

Leviathan's mother had been proud of her the moment she had been born. The woman was a frail but fierce huntress. She had been the target of a man's admirations for a long time, and by the time he had managed to bed her, she had grown old and it had been determined that Leviathan would be her first, and last, child.

Thyella had seen over a decade of life by the time she had brought Leviathan into the world. She had neither coddled nor pampered the child, and so the little black filly had grown into a brave woman. For a long while she had lived alongside Thyella, and while her dark mother had been proud of her equally dark daughter, there had been no affection between them. Only understanding and appreciation.

The black mare was almost sorry that her mother had died before the earth had crumbled under her feet and sent her here, but she knew that the ocean had swallowed Thyella as the fates had intended her to die.

This girl, though, seemed to have a mother that was almost indifferent to her existance. According to what the painted girl said, there was another filly somewhere that was being loved and adored. Unlike Leviathan's sentiments towards the blind boy she had met in the meadow, she felt no pity for the girl losing affection. Soft emotions such as affection and adoration made people soft. “It may not seem like it, but you will only be made stronger if your mother lets you flourish.” Leviathan tries to offer a hint of support with her rasping voice, as if to reassure the girl and let her know that being on her lonesome was more likely to do good than harm.

She has more questions though, the inquisitive young lady, and the black mare almost scoffs at her question. Leviathan wouldn't say that she chose to become a peak mare, but found that it suited her lifestyle. She had always had adverse feelings towards stallions, and she had been assured that there were no stallions here, therefore it only made sense that she would stay here. While the herd mentality was nothing like that of her homeland, it was close enough. “I ended up here and just decided to stay... It's comfortable enough.” She admits with her rough voice, certain that there was no point to asking why the girl was here, for certainly her mother had brought her here to seek the safety and sanctity of the all-mare herd.
