In the name of the King!

The beautiful mare’s native tongue slips free from her lips once more to erase the smile from Braylen’s lips. The sound fascinated him nearly as much as she did and for the first time he wondered if this was how his father felt when he met a mare that he liked. Since Braylen had never really felt the pull of a stallion’s feelings before he was still unsure of exactly how to describe how he felt towards A’idah. But one thing was certain and that was that Braylen never wished for her to leave.

Realizing he had been staring without answering he quickly averted his gaze back to the flowers. “It is just my father and few other mares.” He replied. “It is a small herd really for such a large Forest.” Braylen had not felt like sharing on why the herd was so small compared to how it had once been. There was no reason to burden her with the family’s past dramas that could not be repaired now.

“Come on, there is a creek farther along. We can wash away the salt from our mouths there.” He said, moving away from her to try and distract himself from the emotions toying at him. Braylen had not invited her here to stay. Although he would never chase her off and he knew that his family would welcome her once he had explained she had been invited, the ultimate choice was up to the mare not him.
