Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

There weren't many places the warrior was afraid to venture towards. The open lands were his playground and he wandered them more than most. But the river was a place Iblis rarely went. It was too close to Iromar, too close to the demons who wanted to rip his flesh apart so badly. It had been some time since he had come across a wolf of the swamp lands and, hopefully, he would never have to deal with them again. After being taken prisoner... no, he would not allow his mind to go to that hole of a memory. Things were better now. He and Rhae were safe. No one was ever going to take her again. Since the war between the angels and the demons things seemed calm. The packs did not fight each other like the past but that did not stop Iblis from checking up on things from time to time. True, he was a loner with no pack to call home. But being allies with two very large packs made him feel obligated to be their eyes and ears in the open lands.

Today brought him closer to Iromar than he would have liked. A sudden change in the wind could take his scent into the moors and the hounds of hell would know he was here and hunt him down like a rabbit. This could not happen so the warrior stayed on the other side of the river making sure there was enough time for him to run should things change for the worst. Thus far it had been a quiet trip and he was pleased with what he saw. Nothing. There was nothing going on within the pack that would cause chaos among the wolves of Moladion. Perhaps with Ishtar's end the demons had also ended. One could only hope.

A movement caught Iblis' eye and he turned to see a wolf moving towards Diveen. From this distance he could see that it was a pale wolf with dark markings but that was about it. Curiosity bubbling, he moved with the swiftness of the wind to catch up to the stranger. There was no pack scent he could detect, although the smell that was present was odd and unfamiliar too. Upon closely examining the wolf Iblis determined she was female, as she did have rather famine features after all. Thinking that he might seem a bit of a creep, Iblis cleared his throat to get her attention. "Excuse me, my lady, but I couldn't help notice you are alone in such a dangerous place. Mayhap I could escort you. Demons lurk in this area and they could attack at any moment." He sounded absurd but he couldn't have been more serious. Iblis knew the likes of demons. He knew that they were blood hungry monsters. For him, this was a simple fact of life. In his mind he was doing the right thing to warn this wolfess of the danger she was in.
