The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Warmth spread like soft fingers through his body. He was half asleep, treading in territory that was unfamiliar to him. But all the same, it was memorized. The titan breathed deeply, inhaling the perfume that he hoped he would never forget. Oh how a lie that was; he would never forget her scent. And the brute’s closed pools opened to a blue ice, soft and cold and magnetic. A sigh escaped his maw as he breathed deeply, a gentle tug on his ear pulling his head down as he felt the small figure curl around his front legs and bury herself deep into his chest and under his chin. He grunted softly, taking in another breath against her face. But then she started to stand, and the titan had to struggle to not pull her back down to himself. It was sickening to have to pull away, to be left alone again, but then he was reassured. There would be no more running; no more chasing. So a smile unraveled upon his features, and he got up himself, the darkness starting to itch and his pelt almost crawling back into his skin. His large paws found the hard tile of the cavern, and he was blasted as he bared the plain face of the light.

It besieged him, almost knocking him over as he stood his ground. His dark gray physique relaxed as his sight focused, and he smiled, watching Athene move ahead of him before trotting after her. His gait slowed to her pace, his giant figure striving to stay at her side. The light of the new day brought back the day before, and Zev swayed with the thought of it again. His gaze fell upon the silver pelt beside him, delicately traced with ink black stripes. The titan blinked, and stepped a little closer, feeling the long entrails of his fur lacing with the airy fingers of his mate. She was his now, as he was hers. The entrance to the cavern drowned behind them, the sun and a new lifetime calling their name.

His thoughts were scattered, no hope of picking them up as they journeyed to a place they could call their own. But as they kept pace with each other, Zev was thinking. What an unbearable pain had he lived in the days before. His heartache had sent himself folding, his soul caving and ravenous as what he had just discovered flew away; ran away. And he had thought it had been forever. Those minutes had felt like lifetimes, each holding thousands of wolves under its power. But then his mind clouded, and the warmth of her touch sent them away. The brute was glad, as now his sanity melted away into something different. The memories clenched his ivories as his body swayed with the wind, but the cold water on his feet set him back into the present. The baron turned his thick gray and black head towards the scent holding him together, and watched as she bent her mandible down to the river. And he did the same, tasting the cool tears of the universe meander down his throat. He walked forward towards the river as Athene did. She was left paddling in the deep water, but Zev held his paws on the ground, the liquid licking his sides and almost swallowing him. The titan was huge, towering over almost all of the wolves he had come across. But honestly, he had yet to use his size again.

Claws lost the soft sand as the middle of the river sent waves of cool breath down his back. It was only a couple of moments before he found himself reaching the shoreline, and the wind chilling him to the bone. But as they kept walking, the warm embrace of the sun banished the cold from his frame. And the scent of pine drew his gaze upward at a heavy forest filled with pine and coniferous trees. Dirt caked his paws as his gaze searched for the inside, a dark hole to some new world on the inside. The brute’s gaze faltered, taking a chance to look at the fae to his left, and found she was looking at him. And he smiled, his pools of frozen ice turning into a blue fire. How her look sent him backwards. Zev came close to her, undergoing the scent of where it was strongest. “Whenever you are ready, my Eve.” His mandible formed the lyrics close to her aud, and he set himself down beside her as the voice he treasured reached out and touched the skies with its beautiful longing.
