PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

bay blanketed mare of nowhere

Jezibelle’s eyes wandered across the water and the grass at the black mare’s feet, wandering up the stranger’s legs and chest and nose until she saw the turned back ears of the other. Her gaze veered away and the bay draft focused on some fixed point in the distance. Another horse entered her line of vision. Jezibelle stared at the newcomer as they approached and wondered if it was a real horse or if she was imagining things. The sounds were too real to ignore or pass off as fantasy, however, and Jezibelle shifted her gaze to see how the first mare reacted to the long-haired newcomer. Her sharp exhale tells Jezibelle nothing.

When the newcomer spoke it almost proved to be too much for Jezibelle. She withdrew a step before halting and forcing herself to stand still, reminding herself in no uncertain terms that the longer she stayed down here, away from Impa, the longer her secret would be safe. Besides, neither mare appeared to have come from the trees and as long as everyone kept their distance from one another, she did not think there was anything she needed to fear.

It surprised her to see the first mare’s ears lift when the newcomer spoke, and she stared owlishly at the skinny mare as she tried to decipher which social skill in particular had prompted a favorable reaction, and why her own words had caused such a negative one. It was difficult to care, at first, but Jezibelle had found a new resolve in the encounter with both her Moonwalker and her brother, and she was determined to stop existing as Impa’s shadow to the other mares on the mountain.

Still, she held her tongue after Leviathan introduced herself, not wanting to produce more flattened ears from either of her new company and unwilling to speak until she was certain the reaction to her voice would not be negative.
