Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

There is a movement not far off, nothing escapes the hearing of the ghost of Iromar as his head stays attuned to his son. Eyes of pale white and pupiless appear to be blind and perhaps he should have used that more to his advantage in this life but he hadn't and so he just stares at his son as the female comes into view. His face is a blank slate as he turns his eyes finally upon the female. Eyes that seem to have seen it all, the horrors of life flicker through those impossibly deep white pools, false flames that lick up from the ground to envelope all within their path, freak winds that whip those flames into a frenzy and further destroy a life that could have been so very much perfect. A life without this place... it seemed, almost as if it should have been a dream rather than reality.

His kinked tail lays awkwardly upon the ground as he takes a seat, prepared now to just simply stay here for the time being. It was improper for something like this to happen in the presence of others. Ruvindra didn't find out until much later in their relationship and even the Iromar queen didn't find out about his curse until it was to late to save her mate. He had vowed then that he would share his gift with Iromar to better the pack. But not all things that are seen are real, not all things heard are actually there and he over the years he had learned to hone that curse and turn it into a gift. Until the war, things had been peachy. Until the war that Iromar had been so foolish to rush into in the first place, he would not judge Ishtar's ways of thinking, but he does not relish the taste of wolf flesh. "Normally family business is executed between family members, girl. Not in the company of strangers. Pack or not."

His voice is bland, devoid of the irritation that flicks through his mind at her abrupt and intrusive appearance. Voids of white stare at her. As they do everyone. They pierced into her flesh, seeking out the soul that she has so that he could ravish it with his mind. At one point he could have done such a thing, but here powers mean nothing to these wolves, they are young still in their evolution. "This is no little chat Wraith," he says his tone deepens slightly in a more serious tone. "But have it your way, you always were like that weren't you?" the corner of is lips tighten slightly. He should have been around more. Should have taken Wraith under his wing more. But he hadn't and he can't blame anyone but himself and the damn poppy.

His eyes glaze over, he was prepared for this to happen, the voice that leaves his lips is no longer his own but that of some foreign entity that seems to have taken control of him and he goes ridged. It is probably the first time Wraith has ever seen his father in such a position as this. "Wraith, Son of Paldor and Ruvindra. Brother of Vainglory and Istas. Your father is no longer required by the gods. The great power has been split between the sons of Paldor. You must learn the ways of the Speakers, to help your pack. Use it but respect it. For some are not strong enough to contain it in one body." His body slackens and those white eyes shine a different light. Paldor feels himself being pulled apart, his face grimaces and his claws dig into the earth. Whatever power the gods had given him was now passed properly onto Wraith and Vainglory. The Auspex was no more. Just a husk of a man. A man released from his torment. Retired. "You must return to Iromar for a time son, and learn our ways. Not the demons ways, the Speakers ways. I do not wish you to end up as I have..." for once, just once in his life the grumpy sadistic male has shown a slice of himself, a former self. A kind and gentle, caring and repenting wolf. "You need only to stay for a few days, on the outskirts... please do this Wraith..." he is tired now and wishes to go home but he will stay as long as his son wishes him to stay.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
