The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

It was true though that the swamp was probably not the most expected place for me to reside. The wolves there were known for their violence and cruel demeanor. Yet maybe that was what had drawn me in, for with all this bad reputation surely they were strong, strong enough to change me. And surely there was more to them than all the harsh whispers. I had seen it with Astaroth, who was a demon himself; he was kind and caring, at least towards me. So let them say as they pleased, I was all the better for living with wolves they called monsters.

"You must admit though that the smell of the bogs isn't the most pleasant, unless you like such smells." he says with a shrug, drawing himself closer once more. "I suppose you are right. I guess you can say i'v gone blind to such smells now that I live there," which was true, I didn't notice the smell anymore. Iromar had really grown on me, the smell and even the danger of it all.

I can see the surprise written into his features by my daring actions and it gives me a feel of satisfaction at just how much i'd grown. He opens his mouth and allows his hot breath to slide over my fur and brushes his nose to mine before pulling back. My banner waves triumphantly, this was not a game I would have been able to play before. Not only was I playing them, but I was winning them against a seasoned veteran such as Enderly.

I watch as he sits down, curling his tail around himself. I also sit down, but my tail stays lazily laying down on the cold stone floor. The moment I mention the scent upon him his normal smile falls and I feel a sense of guilt and worry wash over me. There is dissension on his face, something that was not Enderly at all. I gave him a small worried frown, but unlike him, I would not press for him to tell me. If he desired me to know, I would know.

He slides another smile onto his maw, but I know it is feigned. Whatever it was certainly had a strong hold of him if he had to hide sadness. "This and that, dear, this and that. Apparently you have been too. Tell me, have you found yourself a mate then? And a demon nonetheless. I didn't think you had it in you for such danger." he says, that grin of his returning in full force once more. I feel my face heat up and I look away slightly, a wave of embarrassment hitting me. "We're not mates, in fact i'm not sure what we are. And believe me i'm in no danger, he's all bark and no bite, atleast when it comes to me," I chuckled a little as I thought about Astaroth, meeting Enderly's gaze once more with a smile. If only I knew exactly what was going on between us, why he treated me differently, why he was different for me.
