The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Well it was true that once you've been around a smell for so long that you become desensitized to it. He supposed that the wolves of Iromar had to have that trait or else not have the sense of smell. It wasn't so pungent that he might not have considered staying there except the fact that they were a bit too mainstream violent for Enderly. Despite the crowd that he skirted nowadays there wasn't really a taste for blood in his system. It rather intrigued him that so many found some sort of solace in the violent attack of others; so much so that after Nakki's attack on him Enderly had followed her right back into the marshes in curiosity. He had been a bit moon-struck over her too. A beautiful wolf choosing HIM as her prey? Well, it was all rather romantic in it's own weird way. But she was gone and his mind had rather easily moved on to new pursuits until Naamah. He almost regretted their time spent together, especially after Sanguine's haughty dismissal of him.

Silver eyes note the way her tail flashes back and forth in her own thrill of winning his game. It made his lips twitch in a satisfied smile. It wasn't as if he knew that she would win but such things were always good to take note of. Next time he would find some way to up the ante, but by then who knew what would happen? In a years time she had become enslaved to another - for hearing her words made him realize the imprint scenario - and the timid creature of before had turned into a brave lass.

Enderly does not miss her frown either but he has no desire to express the roiling tension within him to anyone. Even if he did feel a certain degree of fondness for Denali seeing as she was something of his life before the change. The moment of impact that had sent him on a whole curveball. Denali is not only brave once more but also tactful; she does not chime in on such an expression, merely flows along with the rest of his speech. He can see the wave of embarrassment practically roll across her features with the swift turn of her head and his grin becomes salacious.

A chuckle reverberates through the cavern. He is getting close to something, some truth about her, and his ears swivel to catch her words. "Imprints." The word pops out of his mouth with an almost derogatory tone. He squints at her now as if seeing her in a new light before suddenly jumping up and swiftly pacing a circle around her, eying her as if she were some new specimen. What is it that really tied one to another? Nothing stood out about her just as nothing stood out about him. What tethered two souls together with such a bond?

"I see you have not figured it out. There is a curse to these lands in which another... opposite... of you is found and your souls are combined. Part of you lives in him and part of him lives in you. Can you not feel him? That tug at your chest?" He reaches his maw out to touch against her chest before walking back to his spot before and sitting, looking down as if he is a teacher. His ears suddenly lay back as he leans his head down to her in sternness. "You have not been told then... if he dies then you shall die too. And if you die then so will he. You are bound to each other. Practically mates!"

His quicksilver eyes stare into hers baring such a truth - for Enderly is an accomplished liar. Not a muscle twitches out of place and he adopts a regal air, the air of one telling the complete and utter truth. He hadn't originally planned to lie to her but it came so readily to his lips and it felt, somehow, right. But he had to make her believe him with other variances such as distracting her with his own problems as well. "I too have another half, although I am not as inclined towards her as you seemed to be with yours. Bad luck on my part I must say." He grimaces at that and it is 100% genuine for he shares no love for Stella, only a compelling need to see her from a distance and the need to touch, well, he is strong of spirit but not of patience.
