Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

Moving so fast I’m forgetting my purpose

Her brother’s plight only served to amuse her. Not that she wished either of them harm, for she loved both of them dearly, but theirs was a family different from most others. Their blood was that of a royal line, and when you grew up with a father like theirs… it was the little things in life that managed to put a smile upon your face. She had met first with her eldest brother, Harries, warning him of their father’s displeasure. She was seen as their father’s right hand, and with that came respect and power… but such a position was not easily gained, nor was it easily maintained. Because she had so seldom, if ever, failed her father, he was more lenient with her, tender almost. Almost. The reins with which he controlled her were looser and her punishments less severe… and so she had urged Harries to remedy his own situation, and fast.

Harries had originally been betrothed to the princess of another royal clan, but she had fallen for their other immediate brother, Akuji, or so it would seem. The princess had proved as devious as Shae herself and had played her brother as a fool, making him fall for her before sullying herself with the seed of another… now normally this would not be an issue, as theirs was an incestuous, conniving bunch… but she was a princess, and the brute had been impure. Shae snarled at the thought of it – her brother had been a pathetic sight, utterly broken, but true to form he had their father’s temper and had murdered the affairees. Silently she applauded him, considering it a proper reaction and punishment, but publically, and in the public eye, what he done had been an atrocity. Not enough of the higher ups had been knowledgeable about the affair, and so shame and mistrust had been brought to their family’s doorstep, and thus they had outcast Akuji. It mattered not that if he had brought to light the princess’ offenses, they would have met the same fate as the one that Akuji had brought down on them… what mattered is that he had been the executioner without going through the proper channels. He had gone above and beyond his station, and that – THAT was the true crime.

But back to Harries – he had not carried at all for the princess, not cared for any femme really, aside from Shae herself. So at the time he had been their father’s pride and joy and had been given the right to set out and spread their genetics with a very specific purpose: to enlarge their army with males and to bring back femmes with which to breed. Theirs was a pure line, and so breeding within the family, though common, would never allow them to survive. Thus, Harries was to bring back new genetics. New DNA. How he bred and found femmes was none of their concern and their father didn’t care, as long as Harries succeeded in his task. But he now walked a fine line – he had sent back not a single one. That was the main reason that Shae was here…

Her own goal was to get a little more freedom. She was nearing the time when her father would begin to pressure her to supply an heir, one that their father could mold to become a King. Shae was allowed to pick her mate, with, of course, certain speculations. She thought that, perhaps, she could find such here, in Blossom Forest. Along her search, she had left a trail of broken hearts, but that was half of the fun. Never would Shae truly fall for another, for her love was fleeting. What she truly loved was her freedom. If she needed to seduce a brute into providing her heirs in order to keep her freedom, so be it.

She had thought about traversing to Cold Summers, for the rumor was that it was full of maned wolves, as pure as she was. But that time would come. For now, she merely wanted to have fun… to amuse herself. Not to mention she wanted to avoid her other brother for now.

After slipping to Harries that Akuji was residing in Cold Summers, she was interested to see what would come to pass… especially since word was that Akuji had knocked up a pure kalak. Would Akuji forfeit one to regain his father’s favor? Or would Harries steal the opportunity and steal one instead? Only time would tell. And Shae? Well she would have impeccable timing… she would sweep in just in time to prevent any deaths. Bloodshed would be fine… deaths would be unacceptable though.

Smiling at the thought of games to come, she smoothed her features into the soft smile that she wore when she was hunting… for males that was. Settling herself down upon the cliff that she had found herself on, she looked down upon the land that she would soon take over. It was her time to shine.
