Hi Folks
I wanted to post a note to first of all congratulate the organizers of the Cox & Palmer race today. It was a perfect morning for a well organized race. Well done!
Second...I messed up. Seconds after crossing the finish line, watching the next few runners finish, I realized I had messed up on the route. When I turned right, back on to Rochfort St, I mistakenly turned left at the first corner (Sydney) instead of continuing to Water St. and then turning left. I ran up Sydney and turned left on to Pownal before taking another quick left to the finish. The result was that I finished faster and sooner than I should have. I saw three gentleman finish after me who I know I trailed for the entire race, so my apologies to these fellows especially. It was not intentional.
I've sent a note to the R2R folks requesting a DQ for the event. Winning a 9.5k race doesn't count when you are running a 10k (joking).
