The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

There were times in her life she experienced pure fear, and in Sekera’s mind, she hoped and prayed that those days were far far behind her. After all, she couldn’t foresee that in her future if she was to try and hope for a family one day. After all, a mother cant be tortured at every turn and be a good role model, now can she? The white and red femme moved easily. Her small agile frame was able to squeeze in places that no one else ever would be able too. She was so small, she didn’t like it, but she resembled a young wolf. It was actually quite embarrassing to be mistaken for a youngin when she was actually nine years old. Pathetic, right? Her mismatched eyes shut for a moment as she stood at the edge of the caverns. It was a beautiful place, scary and silent, but it was so breathtaking that it had slowly become one of her favorite spots to lounge around at. The rocks felt wonderfully cool during the heat waves in the summer, and protected from the harsh rain and wind in fall, and created a dry place from the snowstorms in the winter.

What a beauty the sight was today. The rains had been torrential and sideways today, leaving some of the shark tooth shaped stalactites to drip water down, slowly and steadily creating a small puddle in the soft clay like dirt that was covering the hard rock in a thin layer. The clay-mud had been created by the little bits of dirt that were tracked in on daily basis, along with the clay like dust that fell from the rocks that were the caves. It was smushy and gross between her pads, but at the same time, she couldn’t resist digging her nails into the dirt to make it a bigger mess. A grin split across her white face, a chuckle bubbling up from deep in her chest. Oh, it felt so good to be happy.
