Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

The ones with the darkest of pelts peaked the most interest from the girl of melting snow. It was as if she was a fluid shadow, a piece of darkness that had flowed from the river and is bound to blend into the shadows of trees. She would not allow this unique shadow to escape her though, and the energy of innocent excitement and play ran like electricity through her veins.

The water was cool upon her pelt, dryer due to the fact she just shaked it out, but still droplets of water pooled up on the meshed together hairs, dripping on the ground as she remain paused in her playful position, awaiting the reaction of the shadow so dark and true. Her eyes of glittering amber sparkled like fire on the darkest of night as she watched with great interest every little movement of the blackened lupine. Her desire to play was not unmet. No, she was to be satisfied with a rare taste of delight on this day.

The female of shadows dashes forth, a fake out towards her shoulder. Flare makes a gentle nip in her direction as she does so, her teeth entirely missing the elusive fae. Flare escapes her playful position, white paws pushing forward immediately to give chase. Her front paw reaches out in an attempt to nick the shadow's back paw, not coming into contact and almost feeling as if the shadow is truly that- a shadow that she could never really touch- simply a darkened image inlayed upon the world.

The lit fae of fire continued after her as the shadow drifted along the river. Flare pursued, her legs seemingly to float in her playful stride as she follows. She does not follow for too long though. Her voice gives way to a yip, her form pausing with tail waving, making sure to gain contact with her eyes before she makes a sprint to the nearest tree. She would hide behind it, her harsh face making an appearance around the trunk before dashing to another tree, where she waited to see if the shadow would follow. It was a game of back and forth, give a little take a little. Flame and shadow were never meant to touch, but to eternally play by each other's side.
