I also have 10% disability for tinnitus and hearing loss. Mine was mostly from sitting immediately adjacent to the exhaust of the #3 Rolls Royce engine of our EC121 for missions up to 12 hours at a time. Got top of the line hearing aids worth $7,000 and disability income of $127/mo (taxfree). Didn't apply until 40 years after my active duty. Told them I was grounded for a week during active duty due to a hole in my left eardrum. Don't know if they found that in my service record....but they approved the disability claim. It's never too late to apply. Disabled American Veterans (DAV) will help you file it. Go to the DAV office at your nearest regional VA office and do it NOW!
