The birds were out. The sun was shining. The day was absolutely wonderful. Best of all? Sokka was off on his own which meant I was free for the moment! Hehehehe, I’m pretty sure I did a happy hoof dance when I realized I didn’t hear any semi-angry or destructive foal noises coming down the length of the beach.

My golden hide was certainly doing a good job of throwing off sunlight. My mother did comment when I was younger that I was made out of sun. Just dropped onto the green earth. I told my daughter she was like a bit of solid moonlight. And my boy, Sokka, well, he sorta looks like crystalized earth. He’s shiny, but he’s that red color. Ya know?

I took off for a fun jog/gallop off the wet sands. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, there is nothing like a good long run. Especially along the sea-shore. Full strength with the wind in my mane, a few lingering objects to leap over.

I caught a bit of movement out of my eye and slowed. There was a trail of fresh hoof prints and a new scent. I looked back towards the jungle and thought I saw someone. I turned and followed the trail up into the foliage.

“Ella dare!” I called as I spotted a body. “Ellla dare!” I increased my pace to catch up with the equine ahead of me. If she turned around, she’d see the smile on my face. It had been too long since Paradise had any visitors. Though, they did usually stay on the beach. Maybe she had lived here before? Finally, I managed to cut around to the side and catch up with her.

“Ella, stranga,” I greeted, my voice pleasant. “Welcum do da Paruhdahce! Ya seem da naw yer way. Been ‘ere befar?” Let it not be said that I’m a bad hostess. Maybe forward, but not bad.
