Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

He was growing with each and every cycle of the moon. His legs had grown longer, and the world was becoming smaller. Taviora was a rather wonderful place to live. He loved the tall giants called trees. They were so mysterious, so different from the wolves that roam. He was curious as he looked up at them, covered in snow. His lavender eyes blinked as he gazed upwards. There was no glorious sun out on this day. It was a mood some would consider dismal, with clouds covering the sky in a blanket of grey. He blinks a few times, looking at the world so different than it was only weeks ago.

His brown from is touched with speckles of white snow. He had been sitting peacefully, with flakes falling upon him. The snow brought on an eerie quite to the forest. He had wandered from the den, wishing to be alone, or at least, away from his family for now. His brother had been gone, Sven, for quite some time, and he always wondered if he would find him in the woods on day. His lavender eyes shined as he sat in the white snow. He had been sitting for a while. just enjoying the serene scenery with a blissful pleasure of being on his own. He enjoyed the look of winter, and the cold on his paws meant nothing with the treat for his eyes in this moment.

He could sit here all day in the silent world, with the snow piling upon his pelt. Yet the silence was broken. Betwixt the flakes came echoing a song so soft. His eyes blinked as his ears perked, a bit of snow falling off of them as he did so. His head raised a bit in alert, tilting slightly as he raised on ear a bit higher in the air. The song is so quite from here, and yet it only peeks his curiosity. It is a song so...melancholy. It stirs his very heart. He cannot help but be moved by a song that sounded so lonely, even if he was misinterpreting such a song. He was indeed a pup of one, and he thought the voice sounded younger as well. His own head raised, his creamy brown muzzle headed towards the sky as he replies with his own song. His voice is still young and not developed as an adults is, but he sings with his very soul as he replies. A paw lifts as he sings, telling this mystery wolf he would find her.

He does not end his song before his paws began to move. He pushes forward through the snow, his paws awkward in the depths of the winter's blanket. He lowered his head, bounding as he headed towards the quite voice of winter. Danger did not cross his mind for a single moment. Perhaps he is an ignorant boy, hopeful in life and wishing only for friends, to find out what this mysterious voice is about. He knew his brother was lost to the dangers of this world, his father completely torn up from what lurks in the shadows, but having not directly experienced such things...he simply weaved through the trees towards the voice that caught his attention.

After some time, his lavender eyes catch sight of a figure very different. It was a young wolf, his age it seemed, blackened with red marks. He paused the moment he saw her, not wishing to startle her. He did not know for certain if she was the one who sung that song that rattled his fragile heart. He looked over her, being reminded of Starfall, the wolf of red and black who was rather...strange. This was not Starfall though. His ears perked as he looked at her from a distance, still for a moment before his tail wagged as a friendly gesture. He lifted his muzzle again, a howl coming from his throat as he sang a gentle song for but a moment. Was this the one who sang only moments ago? Would she respond...or would she run away? His face was hopeful as his voice faded into the snowy land of Taviora, tilting his head ever so slightly as he awaited her response.
If only you knew...

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
