At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

The wait killed him inside. Cody had no reason to believe she would show up... she could easily not even be in Blossom Forest. Still, rumors of her being Alpha... she wouldn't leave, would she? He sighs. The cleanliness in his white pelt shifts, and just as he seems to turn, his shadowed leg lifts lightly, in attention. A sound. A scent. His towers lift immediately, azure gaze sharply turns to that direction. His mouth opens lightly as the sight of a female wolf begins to fade into vision. At first he's unsure.. this female was the coloring of Zig, but was much different. His body slowly bends so that his head and neck are facing her. Feminine wolf, curves, Her standing was high, much to how Cody carried himself now. It looked like her, but it didn't. It was Zig, but it wasn't. For a while, he stands there, watching the female who had stopped about 30 feet to himself. Finally, as his icy eyes meet hers, he begins to shift his snowy white body so that he is facing her. His ears twitch lightly. There is a silence. A silence between the two wolves. His nostrils flare at her unforgettable scent, memories flooding within his head. This was definitely her, no doubt about it. For a moment, his vision betrays him and he sees Zig as he had last seen her; a late teenager, giant smile, shy attitude, always by his side, showing her affections toward him. He remains silent as his eyes invasion the old Zig. His heart pounds within his chest, the sound ringing loudly into his own ears.

Her voice brings him back. At the mention of his name, Cody lightly jerks his head to shake lightly, closing his eyes and opening them to see the present Zig, not the past. His body hesitates, but finally, his coal-colored leg steps forward and he slowly approaches her, silently. His eyes have a sense of worry within her. His thoughts running crazy. What was he supposed to say? How was he supposed to act? Sure, this was still his friend Zig... but she wasn't at the same time. He didn't know where the two of them stood. His steps are slow, and with each nearing her, he begins to get more and more nervous. Would she hate him? He could only hope now. Surely, she was probably one of the few wolves of Aurora who knew he had left... at a bad time. Just when he had been named King, after the passing of the past Alpha. But Cody had beat himself up enough. It wasn't his fault. He didn't know, not until it was too late of course. Still, he didn't know if Zig held any bitter feelings about that. Finally, Cody's body comes to a halt. He's standing tall. His muscles stiffly stopping, but perhaps he was a bit too close. Less than a foot away. Silence. He still dares not say anything, as he stand there, eyes fixed on hers. Her smell has another's on her. So she was spoken for..

Cody's body quickly moves close to her; white and brown pelts clashing as his neck arches around hers. His tall body only slightly reaching down for this warm hug. Immediately a sigh leaves him, and he shuts his azure gaze tightly. He nuzzles her neck in their little hug, unsure of how she's taking his affectionate actions. Her smell completely wraps around him. After a couple seconds, he finally speaks, while still in this hug-embrace. "I'm sorry... I.." He stutters unsure for a moment. For the confidence that Cody now carried within him, this stuttering was very rare. Finally, words come back to his mouth . "I missed you." is all he manages to say before going quiet. He wasn't exactly sure what all to say. Yes, she was spoken for, but Cody still missed his friend. He felt guilty, but he couldn't dump everything on her. Perhaps she already knew why he had left. He slowly lets go and his eyes do not dare meet hers. Instead, his face straightens and his elegant neck turns to the left, his eyes looking upon the falling waters of Staircase Falls. The sound of the clashing water soothes him. Besides Aurora, this was his favorite place to relax. Silent, most of the time. He steps back, now to be 3 feet away from her, giving her space to breathe. Really, he didn't know how to act around her.

He had kept his words short because he knew not to expect. Because of this, he dared not mention their home. Well, her home... he had yet to return, though he knew he would attempt to return. Who knows what would happen. His face seems a bit unsure, and his ears desperately search for her response, for her words. His body standing tall, straight face, yet gentle eyes sent mixed emotions about him right now. Cody was strong now, but he was still unsure on how to act around those he loved. Zig would surely be so much different now, but he worried as in to which way. Besides that, he wondered who her mate was, if he knew about him, and so on. Finally, his eyes trail the floor and slowly make their way back to her face. The wait seemed like forever.
