Please Don't Leave Me

Silent people have the loudest minds

It was in the start apparently going to be a peaceful day, but that drastically changed as a soft, familiar voice edged itself into my ears. It was Caesius, that perlino mare who retorted to my own way of concern. She apologized, but I didn't want anything to do with it. Stomping a hoof heavily into the earth I made a clean indent and continued on grazing. Personally I wasn't ready to converse with her. Why was she worth so many mares again? The question popped up in my head as I finally rose my cranium from the ground. Eyeing her with angered chocolate eyes.

She was a pretty thing, yes, but that only got you so far when the rest of the herd mares were after the same stallions affections. Mares were not stallions and being pretty only got the others ticked. Especially if the outcome was what it had been. Giving a snort towards the light woman, ears pulled back and muscles tense I was not going to be light about it. You had no right. No right at all. If I show my care for someone like that then leave it be. I let it be when Lyden traded off my friend for you, I got that he loves you, but I will not tolerate you doing that. Irritation was evident in every word. Every syllable lined with anger.

I can't loose another stallion I've come to love. Nor, another I've come to connect with. That is why I reacted the way I did. I can't live through another lose. You had no right. This time my voice had cracked. Anger finally dwindled down and was replaced with pain. I couldn't loose Lyden. Couldn't loose Gandy or anyone else here. I couldn't loose everything important, not again, not ever. That was why I said such harsh words to the male. He couldn't be so reckless, he had family that looked forward to seeing him walk with them every day.

Still this mare, whether I liked it or not, was now family. Giving a deep sigh my tone took a u-turn and went back to its normal gentleness. I'm Azazel welcome to the forest, even though it's a late welcome and I wish it could've been under better circumstances. With my words and true feelings said, out in the open I could move on. Not having anything pent up was a good thing, a thing that I should practice a little more often.

As an apology I tilted my head in a direction. Hoping the delicate framed girl would follow. If she didn't she'd be left behind because I wasn't going to let clover just die away. In a shaded area where the sun peaked through tree leaves I began plucking some of the sweet plant. Munching away and lifted my head back up with a mouthful, ears erect as I looked to see if she had followed.
