As suspected, this wolf Zeus was grossly offended by my words. Though I did have to give him credit for one thing, he spoke with a certain eloquence I had not encountered before this day. Even so, words could not sway me. I would not have my pack sullied by the presence of such an arrogant wolf. His claims to divinity nearly cast a smirk across my maw, but I remained steadfast in my indifference towards him. I would give him no satisfaction this day, and I hoped that wherever he might wander my mark of condemnation might linger in his mind.
I took a step forward, my hackles bristling to full height and my chin tilting downwards as my ears pressed forwards. My intense mahogany eyes glared into the white pits of his. Tail was erect, suddenly rigid and tense. As I had stepped forward my stance had broadened slightly, and my front legs braced to some extent. Everything about my posture spoke of my dominance, and to the fact that there was no chance I would be bowing down to him this day or any other. “The mountain gets her fair share of lightning from the summer storms. We have no need of the divine bolts you claim to withhold.” Though my words were even, the word divine had been laced with heavy sarcasm. “Perhaps you need to descend a bit further, and away from these lands. There is no place for you here.”
Finally I was given to bare my teeth. It was a slight action, and no growls or snarls accompanied it. In fact, other than the glistening of my pearly fangs, my face remained a picture of quiet strength. Not even my nose wrinkled more than absolutely required, though my disgust at his demeanor was forthright in my mind. If he did not go, I would be moved to further action, but I honestly hoped this fool would see he was not welcome here and make his exit. I hardly wished to waste any more energy on this wolf than I already had.
