Something was on the air that set Maeve on edge. I rough snarl was hidden in her throat but as Nakki’s figure appeared she was silenced. A wave of excitement and betrayal flooded over her. As the woman circled her Maeve couldn’t resist the urge to lean into her fur. Even though the knowledge of her mothers abandonment still burned in her heart she wanted the closeness of the one creature left that had taken her in.


Maeve’s blood stained maw reached our to brush against Nakki’s own. “Why did you leave me mother?” She asked most sullenly. “No one in Iromar has you superior taste in fun, nor in skill. They all pale in comparison to you.” She complimented. She had met someone who was much like Nakki but he hardly seemed the type that would chase her through the bogs although he had his on way of making time pass. She was unsure if anything would come of it but Maeve knew the price and was willing to pay it.

She quickly came from her thoughts as Nakki halted before her. She bounced energetically to the beaver she had captured and placed it at her paws a foot from Nakki with a playful gleam in her eyes. She showed the beaver off as reward for the end of a game. Then; just as quickly as she retrieved it, she hid it a short distance away in a tree hallow before returning to Nakki. Perhaps she had been hurt by the woman but still adored Nakki. A soft whine that turned into a slightly louder cry; as though she where wounded; escaped her throat then she bowed before her companion in play.

She desired the thrill of being chased that she had long since missed with her mothers disappearance. She hoped her cry would trigger something in the pink eyes of her hunter and if it did she wouldn’t hesitate to start the chase. All she needed was Nakki’s inclination to her cries. Should Nakki leap at her or be inclined to play she would let out an excited bark and dart away as fast as she could.
