ONLY THE STRONG WILL SURVIVE

MAGNUS matched the bay mare’s pace with ease, his blue eyes taking in the landscape whenever he was not looking at her. He had not expected her to know anything about his grandsire but he had definitely hoped she might. It was with a twinge of disappointment then that he listened to her admission that she had never even heard the name. This disappointment did not hang over him like a cloud though and he soon found reason to be upbeat again.

HE bobbed his head marginally at her words, ”I stopped by briefly with a friend before I came here. I didn’t really see anyone except the for the lead stallion, Lyden so I didn’t get to ask a lot of questions. Apparently my sister is his lead mare though, so maybe she’ll have found the answers already.” He figured Jörmungandr would have been straight on the case but perhaps she had been busy with her duties. He wondered what kind of leader she was. ”I hope to seek her out so if Soljor agrees, you are more than welcome to join me.”

THE spotted boy’s gaze drifted over the open expanse where a few mares stood grazing. Fly told him it was where the herd spent most of its time. He looked around at all the potential watch points, noting them for later. The mare did not slow though and he soon found his gaze shifting back to the indistinguishable path before them. Are there many wolves? he asked, curiously.
