At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Bree

Bree stuffed away her confusion at Lady’s fearful reaction. She might be at ease with almost any kind of wolf, but that didn’t mean others were the same. Sometimes the fact saddened her, but mostly it was just reality - there was darkness in this world, light could only reach so much. However, it did seem that Lady’s fright had only been for surprise and the young fae didn’t react badly to her questions at all. Bree smiled gently as the girl spoke - her eyes held an older wisdom than when she had first arrived, suddenly her youth was all the more glorious in the presence of an insurmountable patience and compassion.

As Lady confirmed Bree’s suggestion about her sister, blue eyes crinkled in a sympathetic way - she hadn’t faced what Lady appeared to be facing, yet it had always been a talent of hers to place herself in the paws of others. Her heart squeezed for the girl who was probably looked on as stuck up and reserved, whereas Bree was confident that she had faced her own troubles… and as a result needed her own space now.

The forest remained peaceful, though now disturbed by the sounds of their casual conversation. Some midday sunlight was beginning to filter in through the canopy above, splaying Bree’s red cape and Lady’s grey one with dapples of liquid cold. Completely at ease with her packmate, sensing that no danger threatened their position, Bree settled into a sitting position. Her tail came to lie to her side, stirring some fallen leaves before she could become still again. The russet lupine listened with a smile to Lady’s inquiries, smiling at the last one.

“The role of big sister is often underestimated… and harshly judged in my opinion. You deserve a moment or two to yourself. Nymeria must value your company very much”. Her words finished in a light chuckle as an image of the outgoing she-wolf slipped across her consciousness. Yes, it was very understandable that Lady was feeling the way she did. Bree paused a moment before she answered the last question. It was not it’s first appearance in fact, but the answer, though clear was filled with other questions. Senya was still very much a mystery to Bree - she had never spoken of her past, never much about herself at all frankly. What was more, the warrioress had become more distant these past few days. Bree felt a certain responsibility to guard the canine’s trust with an iron paw. She couldn’t claim that she knew all of Senya, yet she was not ignorant of the bond they shared.

“No, Senya and I are just friends. We met on the way to Moondown in fact - thought it was not really our intended destination”. For some reason, Bree didn’t want to talk about Senya. It was so very apparent to the young fae that Senya was a dynamic character who should be considered with caution - there was something unstable in her and Bree didn’t want to give others reasons to believe they understood her before they truly did. So, she changed the subject.

“What brought you and your sister to Moondown Shadows? It seems you come from a civilized background…?” The last statement was framed as a question - after all, Bree couldn’t guess at where the two had come from. That being said, there was something in Lady’s comportement that suggested socialization… though her fearful and reserved side made Bree wonder… ^^
