Although the operative words in my post were "WGAS," here is my interpretation of rule 5. First, you have to read rule 4: "We fish a team format. You can enter your team of two anglers or enter your team as a single angler. Once a team establishes themselves as a team by fishing a scheduled tournament together, they are not allowed to switch teams during a given season. (BRIAN CHOOSES TO JOIN FISHING ALONE - SO, BY DEFINITION HE IS REGISTERED AS A TEAM.) Then continuing with Rule 5: Teams must finish as they start. (ACCORDING TO THIS RULE HE MUST FISH ALONE FOR THE SEASON.) However....rule 5 continues..."If a team decides to split they will be declared 2 new teams and weights will be dropped. There is no penalty for a team member not able to fish full season (BRIAN IS UNABLE TO FISH SINCE HE CHOSE TO SELL HIS BOAT) but no replacement is allowed other than a spouse or child 16 or under." Besides, since you and Brian are already in separate "teams" by joining up for this tournament you are actually creating a new team, and both of your weights should be reset to 0-00 before you fish next month for the first time as a new team.
