Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He had to admit that it was quite strange to be so... at peace, or at least not troubled by some sort of event or inter pack dynamic. In fact, perhaps it was something to worry over itself, this sudden lack of concern - things had been going too well perhaps. Of course, he tried desperately not to think so much on it, more content to try and enjoy the peace while it lasted. Had they not all been agitated over the constant upheaval not so long ago? Was an alpha's life just one worry after the next? Perhaps but... not today.

Instead, he took his time to participate in the more leisurely activities that being a wolf granted him. With the coming of winter, the beach had become a ghastly place of wind and violent waves. Snow had eaten up the ground and the trees hung brittle and cold with their bare limbs. This day, though, things were truly calm. The mid winter sun had even blessed them with its golden rays, rays that fell from the sky and landed upon him as he basked by the dunes. He lay sprawled on his back atop one of the flatter rocks, his paws tucked in close to his body as he faced into the sky, eyes shut though his ears continued to swivel and twist with each new sound. The sun warmed his belly, breaking through the layers of thick fur to bathe his skin in a glow he could have sworn he'd almost forgotten.

He wondered if there were others in the pack this day that, too, enjoyed the break from the vicarious weather. Caligula remained as silent as ever - an absence he had been trying to ignore - and yet his children seemed to grow only bolder. Not so long ago, Judas had caused quite a stir... he'd need to discuss that with his son soon enough but for now, this was enough. Perhaps he would be lucky, perhaps some other would come to enjoy the sun with him - or not. It was just pleasant enough to listen to the sweet sounds of the waves lapping lazily at the shore, after all.
